Another Year Has Passed......

i can't believe it's been 7 years, sometimes it seems like a lifetime ago.
if you're religious, please say a prayer for the more than 3000 that perished on this day and if you're not, maybe just take a moment to remember them.

if you're in the fire service or a LEO, please take a moment to say a prayer, or spend a moment to remember the 403 whose last job was responding to box 8087.

Yeah, on one hand it seems like it was just yesterday. On the other, on 9-11-2001 I was just gearing back up for my Sr. year in highschool. Alot has happened in those 7 years both to myself and to the world. I was just thinking that over this morning...

I remember what I was doing that day... soon after, I had a loaded weapon and walking around an aircraft hanger...

I am still angry to this day about that. Justice still needs to be served.

if anyone ever forgets the magnitude of the event, go down to the site on this day next year and listen to the family members call the roll of names- all 2751 of them.

I had my wife record the news just after the first plane hit-little did I know it was the begining of the attacks. I now hold the tape in safe keeping for my sons to watch later in life--schools,media,and people tend to forget-omit things, like the poor souls that felt the only way to escape was to jump out of the wtc windows.

may GOD bless all those people, familys, and the hero's that came forth when others ran away

All our flags at half mast, a ceremony by brothers for brothers, our pipes singing and me snapping on my snare. The hair on our neck standing and tears on every cheek, feels the same as the day it happened.

9/11/01 was my second wedding anniversary, needless to say it has changed the meaning of this date forever. On 9/11/02 the wife and I made no plans other than to stay in and grieve with the rest of the country for the loss of so many brave souls. Every year since we take time to remember those who have gone on and the ones who have stepped up and filled their shoes to serve and protect us.

funny you should mention it, but whenever i hear the pipes, it puts me right back in time to 7 years ago. it seems like they didn't stop playing for weeks- you felt like there was no more sorrow and grief left in you, and you'd almost start to smile and feel a little better, when someone else's remains would be found and the pipes would start playing again.

Yeah that day is etched in my memory for sure. Two days that I will never forget are 9-11 and the day the Discovery blew up. They hit hard every time they come around.
Prayers to all the families and friends who lost someone that day. And prayers to those who were invovled in 9-11. When we finally get 'em they're gonna need it!

I was in 2nd period shop class. We were working on building a trailer when the janitor came through the big door and told us what was happening. The entire school (little country school) spent the rest of the day around the TV's watching them replay it over and over on FOX. The bells rang but nobody switched classes. We had one girl who thought she has lost her aunt on one of the flights that hit the WTC but found out that she had taken a later one. There was one muslim girl who's parents were from Jordan. I felt bad for her, she didnt come to school for the rest of the week.

Looking at the skyline you could never tell it was there, yet you know it dosnt look right..something is missing. Ever so often ill catch a movie with a shot of the skyline with them in it, and even watched some engineering show on when they started building it. It just makes your heart sink.

All the while those that masterminded this get to look back in accomplishment. We have forgotten, they have not. That was their crowning acheivement
