In all honesty do some of these people you see in the first show really think they sound that good, or have what it takes? Oh my god some are really bad, but more brave than me to be on tv

NOT funny. I would like to punch that guy in the face.

Wait, the wife just said that I'd be good at that... What, a butt head?

Thanks, but no. Lets not, and say that we did.

Rough, tough Diesel Dodge motorheads talking about American Idol on this site? and begle HAS to post on the umbiguous? perfectly normal.

I LOVE the wackjobs who GET MAD at the panel when they give them the showbusiness critique. Hate Paula 'do ya think I'm sexy' AFOOL...

I watched a little bit of the very first season....but after that I haven't watched any of it. I hardly even watch regular TV, more movies than anything.

to answer the question of "do these people actually think they're good?" some are just there to make a fool of themselves and get one tv, but you can tell who they are. in a culture where people are told "you are right, truth is what you see it as and no one can tell you are that you are wrong" it's easy to believe that people truly think they are good. and thier "friends" have been fed the same crap, if you believe it hard enough it could happen! i am not cynical about this stuff, i think hard work can accomplish a lot but there are limit. and even if simon is a jerk (insert stronger word as you see fit) he does know how to pic talent. if you want to know if someone really thinks they are good, watch what they do when they leave the room.
this is what you get when people think there is no absolute truth! i think i am a good singer therefore i am and no one can tell me different!

as for the question do i watch it? YES. but only the audition episodes. once they narrow it down to the good singers, where's the fun?

I'm with Geico, the first few shows with the awful auditions are fun to watch. After that, I don't care.

I'd be sure to watch if Begle1 was on it, though. Just to see how far he made it. And Begle1? Maybe you should have tried Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight instead. Smell the Glove, indeed.

I actually turned the channel after about 30 minutes...kept switching back. IMO this isnt very entertaining..too much filler and horrible acts...that were not that funny. I am such a TV critic

Then they asked if I was really interested in making a fool of myself on television and I said "no, not really". I was uninhibited enough that I could have probably gotten on if I had wanted to.

My song of choice didn't exactly have that much vocal range to sound bad on either...

You know what I mean!
I love her each weekday, each velvety cheek day;
