Alpine radio problem

friend just got a alpine CDA-9847 for his dd (92 camery) so we installed it today. Once we got everything back together we tested the am fm and cd and they all worked. He wanted to see how the flaceplate came off so i turned the radio off and removed it and then showed him the case for it. Then i slid it bakc on and when we turn it on we dont hear anything. no am no fm no cd. mute if off and volume is up. any ideas?

Does it have a theft deterrent feature that requires a code entry to make it work again?
