Anyone take allegra? If so how does it work for you?
Claritin just isnt for me, The side effects are too much for me to handle with working and school and all.
Anyone who takes allegra, what sides do you notice?

I did the Claritin and Allegra thing for awhile.
Neither seemed to be working for me.
I'd take the 24hr dose and be stuffed up again in 6-7 hours along with some of the unwanted side effects.
Finally went to a doctor and he put me on a prescription nasal spray.
WAAAAAAAAAAAY better, one dose a day, and I'm good to go all day long.

Claritin and Allegra work very similarly. If your issue is nasal congestion, take the others advice on this thread and ask your doc about a nasal spray. Less side effects, and better results, although they can take quite a few days until their effect is felt to its full potential.
The old school antihistamines are still the best (diphenhydramine), but make you pretty drowsy (main ingredients in a lot of OTC sleep aids too).

Cleratin D 24 hour is the only thing that curently works for me. I have gone round and round on all the drugs and one will work for a few weeks then all at once quite and I would have to swich to anougther. For a while I had a prescription for a few diferent ones and when one would quite working I would just go get the other. Last couple years My alergies have finaly started to back off a bit. Now I only take Clatatin D when it gets bad and that "usaly" works for me. I HAVE TO have the the D on either of the Claratin or Alegra or neither one will do didly squat for me. If you are not using the D version then try that. May make all the diference in the world, does for me.

It isn't so bad really. I'm diabetic and stick myself 8 times a day for one reason or another. It is more inconvenient than anything. Allergy shots build up tolerances though, so eventually she should not have to unless she finds she has a new allergy.
