Ex Army MP signing in here. 77-83. People don't have to agree with why you are there. You do not have a choice. I know some who have served in this time and all they show on the news is the negative. I have heard wonderful stories and seen countless pictures of smiles on the faces of those we are trying to protect from friends who have been there and seen it first hand. That's what it is protection, weather on foreign soil or our own. I salute you.

Served 1971-1991. My thoughts and prayers go out for all our service members serving now.

If you are a veteran whether you served in combat or not you should be a member of the American Legion. They are a great organization of veterans and provide a magazine to their members that contain information on our service members. Just finished the May 08 issue and read some fantastic accounts of heroism and courage.

For up to date info of what is happening with our troops and where on a daily basis check out http://www.strategypage.com/default.asp really an eye opening site.

I think a post like this was long overdue. We all get so caught up in our daily routine that sometimes we take our safety for granted (I too am guilty of this)

To all those that have served, I give a heart felt thank you. To all those that are currently serving, I wish for you a safe and speedy return stateside. And to all those that gave the ulimate sacrifice, what can I say..... The loss of these brave souls is immeasurable and this country can't stand to lose anymore.....

THANK YOU

From a Navy Wife, thank you to those who support our troops. More often I hear from those who do not agree w/ the troops being over there that it is a relief to hear words of thank you. My husband (known as Seabee on here) is on his second trip to the desert. He has 10 years in the US Navy currently.
