Algebra Question???? HELP!
Well I surely can't argue the point. I had to ask a 5th grader.
Here is my equation. 180 bucks a month for Kumon = When Daddy needs you to calculate how many yards of concrete I'll call you during lunchtime.
She's had her Turkey sandwich on croissant and a swirl ice cream so she's happy.

The REAL question is this...
If an airplane is trying to take off on a conveyor belt that always matches the exact speed of the wheels but in the opposite direction will the airplane ever move??
If an airplane is trying to take off on a conveyor belt that always matches the exact speed of the wheels but in the opposite direction will the airplane ever move??
----- Man, now that is a good question!???? As the conv-belt gets faster as does the plane the plane would be creating lift with the air that is being pushed back across the wings from the prop right? At some point waaaaaayyyyyyyyy faster than what any conv-belt could go the plane would have to take off?????? Or not
!!!! That is a good one right there!!!!
! Man you have me visualizing the plane running on the belt getting faster and faster but not taking off, but then really taking off because of some force! Thanks for that one! JB
Yes it does. The speed of an airplane isn't determined by it's wheel speed since they free spin. The engines push it forward regardless of how fast the wheels or the converyor is going.

Dust off that calculus book, you don't want to miss out on my tarot cards!
"I see that you presently have conflict in your life..."
i agree that the plane does take off because the force that propels the plane is independent of the wheels. no plane that i know of takes off using its wheels so i think that plane would take off no matter the speed of the conveyor and regardless whether the plane is jet or propeller powered...w/e...lol

It is an impossible problem... so the plane won't take off.
