I'd like to fins some too but $400+ for a horn is a bit ridiculous. Anybody got a line on a cheap setup that still sounds good....

Air Horns

I can’t justify $400 either. I was thinking I good get a used horn from a wrecking yard. I good then get a 5 gal air tank, 12 volt solenoid valve, and a 12 volt PSI switch. I am sure I good rig it up but I would much rather purchase a kit if it is not too expensive.

I'm going to buy the Pacbrake Air Horn kit - $120 MSRP. Probably not the loudest, but perfect for me, especially since it will integrate seemlessly into my exhaust brake setup.

I have a roughly 2 foot long horn from Atop a Pete. It needs a base that puts the air to it. But that is all I have. I need a tank, solenoid and air source (if I can't get it leak free).

I feel like this about horns. I am not a "free blower". I do NOT honk much.

Generally speaking, when I use my horn it is in an "OH POOP" situation.

So it MUST be wired into the steering wheel switch! I WILL have a toggle to take the big horn off line...

Truck Horns

Hi Guys,

I bought a set of Truck Horns from Harbor Freight and Tools for $ 58.00. They are the Wolo 418 Air Horns. They are LOUD and everything comes with them to make them work except the wiring. I have just got to find a place to put them on the truck. These Horns sell on the Wolo web site for $99.99. I think I got a good deal. I know that they are not Train Horns. But I would get in trouble with Train Horns. Harbor Freight might have them listed on their web site.

Wow all I need is $257 plus shipping (plus the pedestal to put air into it) and my Pete horn would be good to go. That sounds QUITE reasonable. And is QUITE un-atainable unless something BIG happens.

I have been trying to purchase a set of train horns from www.trainhorn.org. I cant figure out how in the heck to get it done. I don't have a PayPal account. I emailed them and they said I can still place my order using my credit card. Can someone please look at the sight and see if you can figure out how the heck to get it done? Thanks in advance. James

Ok, under the horns you want click on add to cart, it will then take you to you cart click on the Proceed to checkout, next it will ask you to login to paypal to the left of the login window you will see the Visa, Master, discover....... icons it will have continue that you can click on. that will take you the the billing and shipping info page after that you should be able to get it finished.

Hope that helps..
