Accident!!!!!!

I can't believe this just happened!!!! While on the S/B I-15 in stop and go traffic I was rear-ended. The funny thing is for the past 5 miles or so the honda accord following me way was too close and I knew it! Not only was her hood disappearing under my tailgate edge, but she'd be so close that the windsheild would disappear under the edge of the tailgate ( you know, while I was looking through the rearview). So I tried to make room between me and her, while leaving pleanty of room up front. The traffic stops (again nothing new here) and I can see she's not looking, then WHAMMO. She actually tried to steer to the right only to hit the car to her right.

Now my truck has the stock rear suspension, so I took out her left front bumpper, head light, left fender, left side of the hood AND my rear bumper stops ON the bottom left section of her windsheild.

On mine, I end up with a slightly bent up bumper, damage to the right rear lower quarter panel and a very bent up 4" exhuast with a 5" chrome tip shoved up into the lower fender and tire...........

I kinda wish she didn't swerve to the right. Then maybe all I'd have is a damaged bumper and tow hitch. So much easier to deal with........

That bites.

Trucks parts are easily replaced.
Wait until you wake up tomorrow and see what hurts.

That stinks. I've been rear ended, but it did not hurt my truck at all. There was quite a big hole in the other guys Z-71 from that 2 5/16ths ball on the back of my truck, tho...

Glad that you're alright...

I always leave my reciver hitch in. I hope so bad if someone rear ends me that hitch goes right through the radiator. I'd get out and tell them that sucks and say see ya! lol

There's a reason I leave a hitch in all of our vehicles at all times. A hitch usually minimizes the damage down to nothing when you get hit, unless they're going WAY too fast. Then all bets are off.

Yeah the hitch was in!!!!! She swerved to the right, just missing my hitch. As matter of fact, her car just caught my frame. The rear spring mount drug along the top of her fender.................

If they hit me, I just hope it disables their vehicle. Thats all I want to see. That'll teach em to pay attention!

She had a car full of family headed down to Tijuana for the day. She was just too busy talking. You know, that driving thing was interupting her conversation..........

At least she has AAA insurance............

i was rearened once in my old 96 1500 (4x2). Taurus went under me, all I had was her paint on my bumper. her hood was taco'ed radiator smashed etc. i heard on the news a guy driving a Civic who was using his LAPTOP at the time swerved across the center lane and hit an H2 head on. Civic driver dead as a door nail and the H2 drivers/passengers were un hurt.

Well thats a truck for ya....... Never catch me owning a econo box for that exact reason. Heck a guy here at work was hit in about the same manner as me, 'cept he was driving a Scion. Took the whole rear bumper and put it in the hatch back area. And he's been going to therapy ever since. No thanks!!!! I'll stick to heavy-metal..........

I hear ya, after my daughter was born i realized that all the air bags and anti this and anti that can't negate physics! I told my wife when we got the rig, you can't hurt what you can't hit. Nay sayers tell me about rolling and i tell them you roll when you swerve your vechicle. If something pulls out infront of me I may hit the brakes but I am going in a straight line so get ready for me to roll over you or through you. If you are a deer or anything else, you're going to get up close and personal with a cummins!
