Hey guy's first time here in the 1500 section. Anyway I recently bought my son a 97 Ram with the 318 motor, here lately I've noticed more oil consumption and it's started revving up and down on it's on and even died a couple times just backing out of the driveway.When you first crank it up it goes from like 900 rpm up to 1300 or 1400 rpm.

With a little research on the internet I'm thinking I have the plenum gasket problem that is common with this year model and others. From what I read most say go with the Hughes plenum gaskit kit to solve the problem for good. Anyone had this problem with there 5.2 or 5.9 and where would be the best place to order the Hughes kit, does someone else offer this kit cheaper. From Hughes the kit is like $119.00 plus shipping. Just checking before I order.
