I posted a couple of pictures in a thread a while ago. There is a Orange one running around town, it has been for the last month. Still running dealer tags on it. lol
I actually spoke to the owner at Hooters last nite. He said it will flat out fly, has tons of power and it comes on hard. He was also raving about the Brembo brakes. I must admit I got a little jealous when he started it up. That 6.1L V8 sure does have a nice rumble.
I was informed, that is 09' they will be releasing them with the 6spd manuals. I wouldn't dare buy an auto. I even think they are releasing a "Super Stock" version this Sunday, the 13th.

Here is some info on that Super Stock Challenger.
Dodge confirmed earlier this year that a drag strip-ready version of its all-new Challenger was headed our way this summer, and the Michigan automaker has now officially set a date for the car’s unveiling: July 13th. The unveiling will occur at the Mopar Mile-High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado.
The Challenger Super Stock is intended to compete in the NHRA’s Stock Eliminator class, and represents the first Mopar-tuned car in the last 40 years.
Power for the drag-specific Challengers will be sourced from Chrysler’s current lineup of HEMI engines, as well as the company’s 5.9L Magnum V8. Although no horsepower numbers were mentioned, the Challenger Super Stock will be available in both manual and automatic configurations.
Because the Challenger Super Stock is intended for the strip, it will go on a pretty significant diet. The front fascia will use lighter-weight materials for support and the Challenger’s hood will be swapped out for a lift-off, composite unit — featuring a functional scoop.
The Challenger Super Stock will also use a lightweight cooling system, a lightweight, drag-only braking system and a drop-out front crossmember.
Seats that accommodate a six-point harness and a special Body-in-White modified for drag racing will also be a part of the Challenger Super Stock package.
And because the Challenger Super Stock is only intended for the track, Dodge did away with some of the car’s creature comforts, including the windshield wipers, rear seat, HVAC systems, power windows and sound deadening materials.
The end result is a Challenger that is 800 pounds lighter and ready for track duty.

The 6.1 is only supposed to have 5000 units built and the 2010 model is coming out wth the 5.7 HEMI. The 6.1 is supposed to have 425 HP @ the crk and 425 Trq @ the crk. The 5.7 will be like the chargers 340 HP and 390 Trq @ the crk. Still with a 20k add on OUCH!!!!! Only the rch and fams will be driving these.

I remember when DC added on the extra change for the PT Cruiser cause everyone wanted one. Give it a couple of years and they will be 30's and I'll have one in my driveway

A friend looked at one here at a local dealer and they are only asking the $41,000 sticker price. I guess the cost of fuel and the 13 city / 18 hwy mileage rating are making the dealers think twice about that huge markup...
no joke- just drove past a row of dealerships, and just about every full size truck and SUV had a $10,000 OFF sticker in the window.
Buddy of mine and I went to a local car show the other night and a guy pulled up in one. Said he went through 75 dealers before finding one in PA that wouldn't go $30k above sticker. Paid $42k for the car and it has every option and was Hemi Orange in color. Pretty sick car, especially with those 20's on it.
Yeah, my local dealer is insane, he also owns the local FORD lot and marks stuff up there too. Thats why I bought my CTD from another dealer about 15 miles away from my place. I think it makes them mad when I bring my CTD to the local guy for service and the other dealers sticker is on it. To BAD he should have played nice.
