Wink 2005 FORD Superduty

I was chattin with my Furd buddy the other day and he asked me if I saw the 2005 superduty! I said no. He said check it out on the Ford website. So I did. Looks even more like the Ram now.

I see they're ruining it with coils up front .................... one of the reasons I liked the SD was the old but trusty and tough leaf spring front end ...................

How about the built in trailer brake control. Wonder why it took so long for somebody to offer that?

It looks sharp. I wonder if the ride and steering are going to be closer to the Dodge.

Still can't trust that 6.0L. And the quad-cab seems "just right" where the supercab is too small and crew is too big.

The integrated trailer brakes are a great idea! And they're run through the ABS! Great idea! I wonder why Dodge doesn't come up with anything until Chevy or Ford do? Like climate control, On star, Satelite radio, Integrated Trailer brakes? It's like they are always behind the curve. If it wasn't for the Cummins and the Dana 80 rear end Dodge would be in a world of hurt!

2005 Super Duty

I'm not sure if I like that new dash or not. I do like the size of Ford's Crew Cab over Dodge. I wish Dodge would go bigger in the back seat and make the seats more comfortable. It'll be interesting to see how the 6.0 is doing by the time the 2005 SD hits the street.

Also note that the '05 SD will have 17" wheels. Hopefully tire manufacturers will get on the wagon and offer us a bigger selection of tires!

Looks good...

I just wonder how great that built in brake controller really is and if you would still be able to put an aftermarket controller in like the prodigy or jordan?

I dunno, I was expecting a major redesign but to me that only looks like a mild job of refinement. Looks like the same ol' truck to me, with a (sort of) new interior, new headlights, bumper and an even uglier (IMO) grille. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the same exact body as the '98-'04?? The only thing I saw that was really groundbreaking was the built in brake controller (good idea, BTW). Sorry to sound so negative, I just expected a lot more out of this much ballyhooed "redesign".

One last thing, did anyone else notice how BIG they made the interior of the super cab look in that side shot? They must have used smaller seats or trick photography or sumpthin'

Dodge was the first to come out with the ever so popular "big truck" body style that Ford has been copying for years. The tall and wide grill, the rectangular headlights, hood styling.
