2002 transfer pump?
2002 transfer pump?
My cousin has a 2002 dually and he has the pump in the fuel tank.
The pump is going out and a local shop wants 750.00 to install a new one. Is this a rip off? It sounds expensive to me but i'm not sure of the price of the pump. When I replaced my lift pump it only cost 135.00 but I did it myself and it was on the side of the block. Thanks.

Yep, expensive. Mostly labor I would guess, as they probably want to drop the tank. That's about what the local Dodge place wanted to charge me when my stocker went out. Told them no thanks, I don't want to have to drop my tank every time the pump dies. I put a Cummins "campaign" pump on (bought it at a local semi place, not directly from a Cummins store), pump was about $75.00 and is a direct replacement for the stock LP on the block. (Cummins wanted about $140 for it). Do a search for campaign pump. I only ran it for about 2 months before I did it right and bought a FASS.
