My mom has a 2000 Intrepid. The other day when she was getting gas the pump didnt shut off and overflowed the tank, she thought the pump was just screwed up. Now when ever she goes to get gas the pump shuts off all the time like the tank is full but its not. What could the problem here be?

had a 2000 neon that did that all the time, just had to turn the nozzle a little bit and not stick the snout as far down the neck. have you tryed anything like that?

 

try looking down the fill neck . some vehicle have a device that is designed to keep people from siphoning. see if you can see if anything is down there from either siphining mishap or someone blantantly putting somthing in the tank
