1984 chevy 350 carb'd

I got a 84 chevy with a 350 carb'd and it wont crank i think its the distributor module. Is there a website that is very helpful with this motor. This motor is all kinds of screwed up with wiring so any website to help me figure this out is appreciated

thanks

If it won't crank it would be the starter. If it won't start then check the ignition module.

Those older chevy's had fuse able links to the starter solenoid, check those first, when they do burn out they don't break the insulating covering so you need to check it with a ohm meter or a test light, some times the burnt wire inside the wire jacket forms a lump, so if you see a lump in the wiring going to the solenoid, then that is where the link burnt out. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe the ignition wire to the starter solenoid is a purple wire.

As others have stated a spark control module will cause a no start not a no crank.

Good luck,

Tim

Is it not getting spark? Pretty easy to check go to the parts store and get the tester light thing... they know what it is.

If you're popping ignition modules maybe check for bad grounds around the motor.
