quick shot here to say "HI Hope all is well with you fellas! and there is still food to be found" ugghhh! over my limit...
DAVEY! LOVE the Christmas card, and you are very close to what my house looks like! just a great card- THANKS!!!
tough work at in laws but a shower and a bunch of people around make light of it.
poor timing for bro in law (mother gave up living, doctor put her in hospice care, figured two weeks) and some legal stuff there, so I saved him the lawyer fees. it is not ethical but.....
sis in law had trouble transferring a client to a state home (she has 2nd stage dimensia (sp). staff member was indignant and somehow- money came up missing after staff member rushed out during a complaint. hmhmmm.
yeah, made another phone call for that. love state service experience.
even better was we had 10 of us, playing new games and laughing so much our sides hurt. truly the best medicine. no one was sad or worried after THAT!
my nephews are in town (very smart fellas) and have a dimented sense of humor.
the handicapped sis was my buddy and actually played the games for me better than what i would have chosen. she was so well behaved, we all thought she was tired or sick.... hot bath, warm PJs and no complaints. wow.
nice to leave a place knowing everyone will get a much needed good night's sleep!
REDLEG, like the cranberry and Beam medical advice for poor Troy!
a True Alaskan- Paul says 'send a pic of the shanty.'...LOL
wow Chaikwa bro, I believe you need all steel tools. I have a yankee screwdriver for your drill , hand planes, hand bit drills for making bolts and such for ships, etc... bomb proof tools is what you need bro- scott proof is better....good luck with the new purchases...like Claude says DUCT TAPE THEM but do it now, maybe it will hold together.
Hey! on that backhoe pin set up: we saw the older brother and he will machine for us what we need. nice trade for those steel insulated panels, huh? GREAT that you got busy! had an old guitar buddy drop by- we played for two hours before we started to lose the voices...sore fingers too!
back out on the road tomorrow! have fun fellas and enjoy your loved ones! or just your new shiny gadgets.....
Love to hear what you guys are up to!!
we saw some huge windmills up with the cranes.

Morning, my friday finally! Snowing today. Suppose to really get dumped on in the morning to make up for the melt off.
Claude, not a shanty, a box sled to carry the gear in and sit on. The door panels on top might be brittle do to age, but it's not beat up at all. It may just get retired to furniture staus in the loft, but I might drag it out once anyway. Kepp your eyes peeled for a used 3 pt. backblade.
Scott, I stopped by my neighbor Ron's (the guy that had all the vehicles lined up out back at 6 mile and Raymond), and he was fitting some chains on the tires already. Dug around the barn and found a set that fit! Unfortunately he DOES have a JD60 with no chains. He had another tractor years a go so din't use the JD in the winter and gave the chains to somebody in need. Now all he has is the JD. Funny deal though. He had a small speed boat and a motorcycle he hadn't been able to sell. Some guy in reed city wanted them and had this 8N he got off of ebay to resell. Turns out he's a big ebayer with a makeshift studio in his pole barn. I told Ron to make the trade and I'd buy the tractor off him for cash. The guy wanted this Landcruiser as well, to part out for ebay. I could find a running tractor a little cheaper than what I'm paying if I hold out, but it was delivered and it's snowing . This guy bought the Landcruiser to part out on Ebay too. Hauled it home when he dropped off the tractor. Would have doubled my money if not for the new water pump. Probably evened out with 2 wasted days working on it. Suppose to be a 2 bottom plow for the tractor too. Haven't seen the condition, but I'll get it this weekend. Might have to make a bird sanctuary out of it.

Mornin' people.
Snowed just a tad overnite, now everything looks fresh and new, pristine in it's own solitude under a blanket of white frosting... naaaaaaaaa, no matter how I say it I STILL HATE SNOW!
Sounds like you made out pretty good on the tractor deal Don. Still wish I'da saved those chains tho. Someone coulda used them instead of them going to the landfill.
Cin... a CAR??? IDTS! Clear your head and re-think this one!
Not bad coffee this mornin', altho it's lackin' it's usual 'kick'. Guess Hat's been away from it so long he's startin' to lose his touch!
Gotta get to work, talk to y'all later.
chaikwa.

A fine goodmornin to the gang. Sounds like everything is normal around here after listening to the gossip. Claude still thinks sitting on the seeds is required to help them sprout - - hey man, them things ain't eggs.
Lazy day today - - no parties - - no nuthin - - nice for a change. Heading for 83 degrees here - - might have to kick on the AC - - nice gentle rain in the night - - not bad for winter, aye?
OK, grabbing a cup and off to do my nuthin - - sounds like a great day for the lanai and work on that tan. See ya,
Bob

SR reporting in.
Feels good not having to do the JTA this week. Actually getting some of the paperwork backlog out of the way.
Got a bit of snow yesterday. Wasn't even sticking but people still went nuts and did stupid/stupider stuff. Just a wet foggy morning right now.
Son in law gets sworn in as an official law enforcement officer today. The PD/FD here at camp has started expanding and he got on. It's something he's been trying to get into for sometime. He will go to the fire academy first and then the law enforcement academy later this spring. EMT training is available if he wants it.
Drivers side window is stuck in the up position. Got to pull the door panel off to see what's broke.
Got some people coming in, time to get back to work.

Those were the ones that always got me too ... usually coming OFF of the autobahn. Kinda hard to go from "warp speed" to "respectable speed" in less than a couple kilometers
. I imagine I still have a couple tickets waiting for me ... yeah, keep waiting ... I'll be right there to pay for them
.
Had a real nice Christmas here at The Silver Dollar Hollar !! Two real nice days without a cloud in the sky ... and then on the day I decided to get motivated to re-tighten the tranny bands ... it turned cold and rainy again. I am a fair weather wrencher these days hahahaha. Oh well, just gonna have to keep driving momma's gasser for a while.
Duke the wonder basset is fitting in fine. He's a young un and somewhat "unrefined" as of yet. Funny as all get out ... thinks he is a lap dog every time you sit down.
Have a good last few days of 2007 .... 08 is gonna be a doozy

HOWDY HOWDY guys.........
Sounds like everyone had a good holiday...
The BOSS's surgery went well, ..only one "ooops" from the Doc, and that was just to tease the BOSS... worked too
She is recovering nicely, been resting and taking her meds like a good girl. The in-laws came in the day before Christmas, so I got relieved of nursing duties and her mom took over( thank god)..
Had all the girls over, and my son drove over from KC..
lots of good food and family. thats what its all about!
The BOSS did me good and I have a nice new oilskin duster and a new pair of boots in the closet.
We got 11 inches of snow Monday, so had a pretty white snowy Christmas, now we are supposed to get 4 more tonight.
Been off work since last Friday, have to go back tonight tho
...just cant seem to get excited about the idea...
The only snag to the week has been that the BOSS's dad made foo-foo coffee in my coffee pot, so I gotta go get a new one, and I had finally gotten that one broken in..
