Well, grain elevators are warm in the winter....but I think I'd have to lean towards the feed lot... not as smelly!!

Paul, what OS are you running? Windows XP and Vista both have a file transfer program that will move your files from one puter to another..and I think you can buy software to do it as well..

Heidi, gals you made it home... and becareful, I got a super-soaker and aint afraid to use it!!!!

"All right",,,,,, Just woke up face down on the keyboard,,,,, jeeze the night went by fast! At least I won't be sleepy on the drive home.
One Graveyard down and one more to go and then it's five weeks of Daylights due to training with weekends off. I think I can handle that!
Y'all have a nice day,,,,,,,, I'm going home to get some (more) rest. Sorry Chrisreyn,,,,, I'll try to stay awake tonight.

Mornin' all.

Was up 'til almost 3 this mornin' messin' with generators. Power went out last night around 11. Called power company, they said power *might* be restored by Wednesday. Ok, so I get all the generators set up an' runnin'. Bring one to the new neighbor, figure out where to plug it in, and get that one runnin. Generators rum for about 2 hours, then power comes back on... is it Wednesday awready? Stoopid electric company! Not complainin' that the power came back on so soon, but if the right info was given out in the first place I wouldn'ta bothered to set all th e generators up. Oh well, I like workin' mid shift!

Goooood coffee this AM! What'd ya DO to it? I'll start the tea for Claude an' the phoo for phiver.

BBL.

Mornin all

Well it's still half past dark here. Wife couldn't sleep all night(cold) and woke me up at 0500. Then I couldn't get back to sleep so am sitting sipping coffee and reading posts. She finally got to sleep. Going to need a nap later I can tell.

Hows the transfer going Paul? I think on my putters it's a 15 pin to 15 pin male to male plug that is needed to connect them. Hope your having some luck, having trouble with them when you have stuff on there that you want to keep is not fun.

Coffee is not to bad this AM. Half a pot gone already, if I keep this pace up I won't be going for a nap anytime soon.

Time to check out some more posts. Have a good one drive safe and have fun...Later.

Cool morning break- get the o rings. sound like you all need them!

okay Krispie Kremes in two boxes of assorted, one box of nothing but glazed..

I was offered coffee yesterday morning, but my husband stood up emphatically to say it was not needed.......only made his brother hand it to me, directly. heh heh heh wow, let's see what she's like on coffee heh heh

CHAIKWA, figures...just when you prove you are prepared.....that's what ya get for goin' back to bed...you, of all people.

AKPAUL; don't know what kind of signal service you get there BUT we went from dial up to a cellular modem. verizon service. and it improved our speed
200 times faster than dial up, no interruptions. don't know if that will work for you, but for the cost; it sure beats the other expensive options. downloads of 8mb now take about 45 seconds. For you photo switch=if you have USB ports- you can use a thumb drive. or did I miss something? hope you get all those alien shots you took.....enquiring minds want to know! LOL kidding best of luck ..

OK, now you are getting really smart - - that weather up there is horrible. Only 84 today. And you are wrong, Heidi, pumpkin spice is wonderful while in the bathing suit sunning at 84 degrees in my lanai. A lanai is what we call the screened in area of the patio and pool. Some call it a pool cage, but that sounds kinda like I am an animal. A lanai usually includes the pool, the covered patio area, some planting area. A sort of bug free environment to enjoy the outdoors away from the blood sucking squitters.

Wow, gang - - almost another year gone bye bye - - can't believe it. Sure glad I didn't have any birthdays this year - - I quit a bunch of years back.

OK, grabbing foo foo and heading for the LANAI. See ya.

Bob

I didn't mess around in Fairbanks very long, it started snowing so I got and went. Bought some more lumber and some toys for myself. Got me a new wireless keyboard an mouse, a 4 port hub thing for plugin stuff into. A stud an electrical finder. New splitting mall, last one handle cracked, traded in for new one. New office chair for puter desk. I looked for memory sticks or any external drive compatible with Win 98, nada....They only went back to Win 2000.
We only have dialup where I am, and probably all we will have for some time I bet. We have been told that the population is not large enough to pay for the towers. Funny we offered to give them a 100 foot tower for free, its already to use, power at site. ATT bought out Cell One, maybe then we will have some competition against ACS who is corrupt and have been milking the proverbial tit for to long IMO. I pay 30.00 a month for my dialup an another 30 for phone, an another 30 for cell phone I can't use unless I drive 10 miles.

Wink wowza..nice to have input from other regions!

AKPAUL yep, no more complaining about my phone bill.......thought about you the other day when we couldn't get any signal from anywhere in the mountain range. not even sat info for the GPS.....better like your neighbors.

think you did well- but I am concerned about you looking for a stud.

FIVERBOB, actually THANKS for the info. I would have never guessed the protection needed. and different areas have terms for outdoor places (dooryard comes to mind) and yeah- few times you did say time to clean the cage, I thought like a pool filter thingy..LOL very good ! foo to you!!
tried a new flavor at a neighbor's house- buttermint. thought my teeth were going to just fall out from the sugar....they didn't

yeah, we are soooooo ready for a change of temperature and busy in the summer up North. just a flippant idea to travel easy down South. got to check out the manatees on the right day this year- bout five years ago we went to dive only to find out that on that particular day, they were closed.
work schedules did not allow extra time.

went for a hike today, in the blowing snow, but fun. Pictures of Letchworth State Park to our North (grand canyon of the east)

50 years old two millions tons of dam, each section floats and moves. being in the tunnel at that time is not cool. nine conduits, only two or three at most are open at any one time. conduit size is five foot by seven foot each
15 feet tall, what they call- under dam. piston is ten feet high by twenty feet wide, you could look down the vortex to see the travel space, very dark and made you wonder who was behind you.

Genesee River is one of four that flow South to North in the world.
it starts and has weather monitoring back in Gold, PA. what happens there and here dictates what conduit will be open and so forth. this is only for flood control. If the gates were all open , Rochester NY and all between would be power washed into Lake Ontario.
pics were taken at 1300 elevation, dam itself is about 900 feet tall.
only twice did water reach the causeway. once in 1972 Hurricane Agnes, water mark still evident. and about 30 feet shy in 1996 or so....
this is primarily a river but can have a 140 foot water elevation change
in four days. I have rafted this at flood stage 90 feet higher than were you usually pick up your raft. instead of a bus ride back up to the start, you got out of your raft. nature is the only true power.....

ok class, that's the end of this lesson-- time for something hot...later guys!
Heidi enjoying a peaceful , solitary night at the 'puter...

I run out of room in the bed of my truck.

It was piled just above the cab level all the way back to the tail gate.

I could have pilled more on, but I really wasn't putting any effort into the loading. it was just pile it on.

I got enough out to be able to get in again.
I did get rid of 4 dead computers, a small monitor that I couldn't give away and a bunch of other junk.

Night shift on duty, all secure about the site. Coffee is on and have venison jerkly and freshly made oatmeal-choco-chip cookies for munchies

Dennis, lets see if we cant stay awake for a few more hours.. looks bad for the shift when you walk around with a keyboard impression in your forehead...

Paul, you can use a printer cable to connect from one puter to the other, and the Vista system should have a "File Transfer Wizard" under utilities..willtransfer all documents, photos and some programs...

Not a problem,,,,, I spent most of the first two hours straighting out the mess I made in the first two minutes of the shift. It was one of those "Pay me now or pay me later" type situations. Figured I might as well get it over with. Should be clear sailing till 0800.
,,,,,,,Sure am glad that F G H J tattoo wore off before I got home!
