G'day all,

FWIW Blake, I would like to see a write up w/ pics. I hate my stock radio, the wifey has blown two of the speakers so here pretty quick I am gonna need to tear into it.

Broke out the shot guns and pistols last night. Got a little weapons training from my nephew. Now I am shootin a 4" group at 70' with my .40 baretta. Which for some is lousy, but for me is the best I've ever done.

Swept up a bit in here, bi pile of what appears to be Llama hair in the corner, where the dragon used to be.

Furball, sorry to hear about the 'pigs'. Tim, good to hear you are, well at least in theory, more beautiful today, Scotty, sounds as though things are getting better with the legs, Bulgaria??? Really?? Rick, Sorry can't do much about the smell - you just gonna have to like it

Ya'll have yourselves a great day now.

Dixie cup - snort, snicker, tee hee

Hey y'all !!! You guys all sound like you have been industrious this weekend ... please stop ... I feel like such a bum as it is !! hahaha

Took Mrs. Pistol to work with me in the new hotrod this morning to check on things with my contractors. Nice breakfast, a fast blast down the freeway and a slow cruise through the country to the house. Doesn't get much better than that.

So ... who wants to mow the lawn for me ?? .... never mind .. the teenager is looking too comfortable.

Y'all keep it safe out there.

Cheers,
PISTOL

Oh gee - - it won't be the same. How horrible. Oh well, just have to get used to it or else bust up your other LEGG.

Good day so far, but rain on the way in. Must be summer in Florida. Been weird this year - - have not had those rains with cats and dogs on one corner and the sun on the other corner. Something wrong.

OK, gunna run - - have a gudurn,

Bobby

Thank you sir. Great pics! They sure do clear a wide enough area, don't they? What is that, like 100'? And what happens when they have to cross that stream? Do they dig under it?

Better than yesterday at least. Changed the fuel filter and screen on the International as per Tim's instructions. It actually started and ran after I was finished too! 'Course, I ain't taken it down the road yet either. And I installed, removed and re-installed the fuel filter about 4 times before I realized it was on correctly... the fuel filter mount that attaches to the block and the actual fuel filter to gasket area are on 2 different angles. Makes it look like the filter is cross threaded when you step back and look at it. Messed with it for about 1/2 an hour before I remembered I messed with it for about 1/2 an hour the last time I went thru this too. Someday I'll get smart... and let someone ELSE do it!

Hi Bob.

Actually this is a 200ft Right of Way. We normally work on 75 to 100ft but we are putting three lines in on this one spaced 50ft apart, so its a lot wider.

Yea, we just dig down. The pipe has to have a minimum of 4ft of cover below the mudline of the stream. The stream will have temporary dams put in place, the pipe ditch dug and pipe lowered in and tied in. Stream will then be restored. This is a FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) aka Big Brother run job. They regulate environmental concern in the petrochemical industry. You would not believe the hoops that must be jumped through for something as simple as crossing that creek. Soil segregation, sediment and erosion control. Silt containment fences with hay bale reinforcements. Reseeding and vegetation rehabilitation. Temporary flumes if the stream will be closed for more than 24hrs.... etc.

Interesting. I remember working adjacent to streams when I was doing excavation and know all the environmental stuff I had to go thru, I can only imagine what your case must be like. I never really disturbed the waterway, you're digging it up!
One more question; why are only some sections of pipeline completed with big gaps between them? I would have thought you'd work one end towards the other.

We do start at one end and go to the other, sort of. The mainline does, they lay the majority of the line. The lay as much as possible in one continuous section, but the reach obstacles that must be crossed, such as foreign pipelines, creeks, etc. The mainline crew will leave "drag sections" which are lengths of pipe off to the side that will fill in the gap. As they progress forward the tie in crews come behind them and fill in the gaps. The tie in crews come back and like in the instance of the creek, prepare the creek for the crossing, drop in the drag section, and tie it all together.

It would take forever to do it all at one time.

Much MUCH better. Almost done the antibiotics, no splint, no bandages and almost all the crud/scabs are gone. I made it up the stairs a few times yesterday without being in crawl mode or hanging on to the rail...Actually stood upright and made it just fine.

Whats up or down? Do you feel...'out of sync'? I hate that feeling...when things are just...off. Over the yrs I have learned to recognize it and when I get into that kind of funk...I back off on any major decisions. You gettin knee surgery soon?
