Dang it, buddy. I sure am sorry. I wish I was there to help!

Evenin, all. Got the four wheeler running tonight. I'm pretty proud of myself, I won't lie. Bucket of parts is cruising around the block.

Drank my dinner tonight, it's been one of those days. Wish I had never been introduced to budweiser...

Thanks Mark. Congrats on getting the 4-wheeler running. Careful of those liquid meals.

I consider myself blessed to be able to diagnose a lot of the issues I come across. I suspected that it might be a transformer issue when I found fluctuating voltage on one leg of the 220V and the first electric company employee basically rechecked what I had already checked and then went to get someone who knew about transformers.

If worse had come to worse, I could have fired up the generator to run things but I was trying to be considerate of the neighbors so I stuck with the propane heater. It's comforting to know that I'm not totally up the creek if we lose power.

Looks like Santorum is trying to keep it a 3-way race.

Checking out and leaving it to the shrews and the night shift. Have a good night.

Just went thru that myself a few weeks ago. Took our co-op 18 hours to figure it out!

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 8th:

1861 - The Confederate States of America was formed.

1861 - A Cheyenne delegation and some Arapaho leaders accepted a new settlement (Treaty of Fort Wise) with the U.S. Federal government. The deal ceded most of their land but secured a 600-square mile reservation and annuity payments.

1910 - William D. Boyce incorporated the Boy Scouts of America.

1918 - "The Stars and Stripes" newspaper was published for the first time.

1922 - The White House began using radio after U.S. President Harding had it installed.

1924 - The first U.S. execution to make use of gas took place in Nevada State Prison.

1963 - The Kennedy administration prohibited travel to Cuba and made financial and commercial transactions with Cuba illegal for U.S. citizens.

1968 - In Orangeburg, SC, three college students died during a civil rights protest against a whites-only bowling alley after a confrontation with highway patrolmen.

1969 - The last issue of the "Saturday Evening Post" was published. It was revived in 1971 as a quarterly publication and later a 6 times a year.

1971 - The Nasdaq stock-market index debuted.

1973 - U.S. Senate leaders named seven members of a select committee to investigate the Watergate scandal.

1980 - U.S. President Jimmy Carter announced a plan to re-introduce draft registration.

1985 - "The Dukes of Hazzard" ended its 6-1/2 year run on CBS television.

1993 - General Motors sued NBC, alleging that "Dateline NBC" had rigged two car-truck crashes to show that some GM pickups were prone to fires after certain types of crashes. The suit was settled the following day by NBC.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Every thought is a seed. If you plant crab apples, don't count on harvesting Golden Delicious.

Coffee's kinda funny tasting this morning. Almost like some elderly person who tries to save money by not using enough grounds made it.

Got the volt meter out and figured out that one leg of the 220V was down to 32V. Called the electric coop at 11:00pm and killed the main breaker so they wouldn't let the smoke out of my electronics. Dug out the Big Buddy space heater to take the chill off. The came out fairly promptly but it was 4:15AM before they finished changing out the transformer and got their bucket truck winched out of the yard and after that I got everything turned back on and got the heat started. Then found out that my wireless router coincidentally died at the same time. Spent part of the day replacing the router and resetting wireless device access.
Ouch! Sounds like your guys are better than Scott's. They didn't show up for a long time.

It's different all right. Not nearly as simple as got fuel, got battery so I'm gone.

You are lucky. I'll poke around with 110 a little but really don't want to mess with 220, even though I understand how you get it. If it was that cold I think the neighbors would just have to get over the noise. I'm wired with a transfer switch so I can plug in the welder. It would definitely keep the neighbors up. The wife likes Santorum, I haven't made up my mind but I don't like Romney or the current infection we have at the top.

Yep, just put 20's on the wife's car. 70,000 mile Michelin tires to be exact. And now I'm broke

Morning heathens. Little snow out today.

I'd be careful about advertising that your wife wears size 20, especially right before giving her those Valentine Day presents. Name: uzi_left.gif

Sounds like our guys were a little faster. First response was within 30 minutes of my call and about 5 hours total diagnose and replace time. Probably helps that we're only 3 miles from the co-op office instead of out in the woods.

Good thought for the day. Also liked this one:
Coffee's a great way to fool yourself into believing you're going to have a productive day.

I don't stick my fingers in too deep. Used to work with a retired electrician/electrical engineer who would lick his fingers and touch the wires to determine how much voltage was there. Me? I'll stick to using a volt meter for that. Don't need to add extra curl to my hair.

I don't mind improvising for a bit. If we had been down for 18 hours like Scott, you can bet that the generator would be running.

Morning Bob, Shorts, Cincy.

Looks like the shrews finished off most of the donuts so I'll find something else to snack on. The last donut was doing a run-n-gun with a couple shrews when they left the breakroom. Name: bt.gif

Size: 6.6 KB I suspect that the donut will lose in the end.

Back to work. Later.
