I think so. I'll get back to you on that when and if I heal all the way up.

[QUOTE=Justwannabeme;2962830]took a two hour chunk out of our work to load up our 20 foot flatbed trailer
with OSB construction panels, tarps, and stuff headed down to Bham,AL. Knowing that our DTR guru rick and his family are safe brought it home to us.
some church caravan, so i know I will get my trailer back.[quote]And you didn't come along for the ride???? I've got a saw down here that would just fit your hand and all the free oak you can haul back.

Oh well, I got a good steady job and plenty of Job security.......
Back to work already?

Evening folks. Thanks for all the warm thoughts. We had rain most of the day today, cold soaker. I got one tree job done before it got too bad. Here's a couple pics, start to finish about 2 hours and 15 minutes once we got set up. One climber, one groundsman and me on the skidsteer. The tree is a twin hackberry.

Evenin. Talked to Rick tonight, wish I had more time to call friends like that, not just when they needed a call. Be safe buddy.

A GREAT friend of mine, former SgtMaj in the Army, told me about another SgtMaj that has Lou Gehrig's disease... the problems he's going through... it breaks my heart. I want to rip my skin open and scream why?!?!?!?!! America's hero's... suffering. I don't deserve to be in my cushy house, but I am because of this patriots sacrifice... It's a hard load to bear, I'm not strong enough. I'm not sure the majority of us think about it enough, including me.

Ya'll have a good night. See ya in the am.

Hey JBark son!!!

the GIRLS need to know that you are 'fun sized'. not DTR faithful.....heheheh
hope all is super good in your world, man. taking life by the horns.

Madhatbrother, yup really brings the 'bad things happening to good people' thing when ya hear about someone's medical crap. talking or sending a letter of thought and heart is powerful for both. do it. get the chance , try a charity run or so forth...you CAN make a difference in someone's life.

Fiverbusybob. feel for ya, sending spare time your way yeah.
might eat the gator and make friends with the coyote, train him to pull a sled. haul away the work site debris....yeah!!

Rick, community that stuff went to was "something Grove", didn't look it up. they may know you there. if not, they will now. evil chuckle....
awesome work on the tree work! hackleberry eh? sounds like heavy, grained fruit tree. you were working to drop and clear in two hours...

stay very safe, DTR loves you!

Heidi, that would be Pleasant Grove. It's located just SW of Birmingham, on the north side of I59. It is ground zero in the Metro Birmingham area for deaths and destruction, Smithfield Estates is next. I haven't been to Pleasant Grove yet and I probably won't go there. You have to have houses let to have trees on them. As far as the hackleberry tree, it's pure junk. The wood is soft, knarly and will break before it bends very far. Since that tree was already through one wall and the roof we put a cable in the top, cut a hinge just above where the tree came back out of the roof, took the pressure off, then cut it clear of the trunk and pulled the whole top off in one piece. It's much easier to cut on the ground. There was another large branch we did the same way. We cut the smaller trunk of at the stump and I just pulled the tree straight out from the bottom. When we cut the last large branch clear the pole stood back up on the stump. One more cut with the cable in the top and we dropped the pole next to the building. It was pretty sweet but we got lucky. Like I said earlier hackleberry doesn't bend much, it just snaps.

Morning, may be slow today since it rained so much yesterday. I may bid some and pull some PM. (and check in here)

Afternooner all,

Home from lunch laddy duty. Poooooouuuuuuur a might cup of joe for the HAT.

Think I'll make a tall iced mocha with the extra strong . Ahhh, feet up, doing nerdy things on the computer. Got kiddlet duty soon.

My daughter and her main squeeze are using my truck next week to tow his Viper to a truck thing in Panama City in 5erBob land. I gave them permission to drive it, wash and wax it, LOF and tranny service it. They should have fun.

Cougar, I know how that work BS goes sometimes, feel like shooting the Energizer Bunny, just to let off steam.

Outta here for now. Kiddlet duty then come home fixin' chicken for prudent student.

Davey
