*** The Leftover Ghosts and Goblins Breakroom 11/2 - 11/8 ***
Tuesday is election day. The anti-pipeline people are pushing for everyone to vote for the guy who used to run the Center for Rural Affairs. Not a group you want much to do with if you like living out in BFE. He pretty much thinks all obama's (puppeteer's) ideas are great. Never mind that we can't get trains into the elevators to haul grain because the railroads are operating at capacity hauling oil out of North Dakota, and that they've spilled more in the last year than pipelines have spilled in the last 47 combined.
The kid bought that truck. Well, he asked the guy to hold it til next weekend when he gets someone else to go with him to pay for it and bring it home. We left and he didn't think to at least bring his checkbook. It's not in bad shape, other than the passenger fender where the running board caught some junk and held it, and the bottom edge of the back passenger door, there's no rust. The engine isn't the original, there's some numbers printed on it in marker, upside down, above the oil filter. Big thing is, no ticks or knocking in the engine. Rear main leaks a bit. Kickdown seems a little hesitant but upshifts are good. The body and frame are good enough that even if he has to swap the engine or trans, it's worth putting the money into. $3000 with the stock wheels and decent tires, plus the 20 inch 3rd-gen wheels on it and the spare set of 20 inch tires. Told him to offer $2500 with just the stock tires/wheels, as he probably won't want to spend that much on tires when they need replaced, but he says he likes them. Just hope it stays together for him and he doesn't get stupid again and wreck it.
He's going to college at NCTA and quit drinking, the doctors told him if he doesn't quit he's going to need a liver and they won't put him on the list if he continues to drink. He might make something of himself yet. Told him he can move in out here if he comes back to work next summer and that's what it takes to keep him out of trouble.

Some days it feels like I'm teaching kindergarten. If I was still a drinking man, I think I'd toss a couple. We are getting downward directed equipment in dispatch. Great tools, but you'd think I was telling them to learn a new language overnight.
Let the meetings begin.....(at least the O-7 is in agreement with me).

Heidi, thanks. I did write to Capstone, but no response yet. Hope that they do not just ignore me. They have not even acknowledged receipt of my query, which sounds strange for a supposedly professional company.
Ginger ale, hmmmm, yummy. Love anything with ginger in it. When I was growing up my mother used to buy cans of melon and ginger jam. Loved to smother a slice of bread with that jam. Ginger beer is another favorite of mine.

Good Morning Fine People.....another Glorious day here in God's country
Coffee is on, fresh phoo for Bob and some warm goodies right out of the oven to go along with the fine selection of cereals and fruit to choose from. Enjoy!
Thanks for cleaning the place up Mom

.... not bad.
Take a break from your reloading and go vote. Don't know if it'll work this time either, but we have to try to compensate for the Chicago way. (Vote early, vote often.)
