no worries, you'd have to be a father at 10.....
JWBM - a friend of mine hunts on the west coast of Vancouver Island somewhere. The small trees are super thick there like the alders you are talking about. He decided to get a big enough gun to just go through the small trees. He uses a .45-70 carbine. On the muzzle end, the slug will go through a few small trees. Unfortunately, on the butt end, if you don't tuck it into your shoulder really thightly, the butt will also go through your shoulder. We were sighting in the scopes a couple of years ago and a newbie didn't leave enough eye relief at the scope. It took eleven stitches to close up the smiley face in his eyebrow from where the scope kissed him.
Morning kids, you know who you are.
Sitting here in the middle of a big empty, but I'm required to be on duty just in case. Should a brought a project. Acoustics are good, with the hangar door open it acts like a big megaphone. I can get some range on them low notes.

All you Alaska people are making me so jealous - - can't wait to get back up there, but I will stick to the spring and summer (which together are quite short - - LOL). Would love to come up some winter for some hunting. Speaking of which, had a nice size Panther come thru the ranch two evenings ago. First one I have seen out there. The Bobcats are almost as big out there - - wow, they look like a panther from the front. Had 9 deer in the drive Wednesday morning. One very young and wobbly wee one. Had to have just happened overnight. Nuther 7' gator in the pond this morning. Hope he leaves me some tilapia - - sure is loaded in there. Hopefully he will have a few and get out. Hate to pop him between the eyes, but some gator tail would be good. ......
Wow, another week is done. Lots done but soooo much more to do. Getting tired and ready to head out this week for two months. Got the rig ready except for loading and final clean up - - wash the truck, fill it, hook up and GO, BABY - - GO.
See ya,
Bob

we should tawk, joisey boy..... this thing has been sitting outside for every one of it's years. only thing 'gone' is the eight inch struts that hold the rear fender walls on. motor needs to be re-done to include the oil lines inside. the wood dash burned up when hubby was working on it, and caught the garage on fire at his home- in 1981. yeah. 'nuff said.

Thanks for the birthday wish, the can is your hero!

These people are crazy up in this place for making me an Admin.

Well, they probably figured that since they made me one and the place is still here, why not try a truckie and see how it goes!
Do an experiment for me while you're in Hampton; find a beat cop and ask for directions to anywhere. I worked a couple of summers up there as a cop and the standard answer, no matter where anyone wanted to go was, "South over the bridge, 2nd set of lights, take a right." All we were interested in was getting the people outta Hampton. Just curious to see if they're still doing that.
Don't forget to stop at Brown's Lobstah Pound!

Morning folks. Made it through another birthday yesterday. Made up and changed out 2 of the most difficult to access hydraulic lines on the under reach of one of our 40 ton heavies
. Got the wife's jeep all serviced up and 4 new sneakers put on it. 140k on it and it goes down the road as nice as new, I love that 4.0.
Some yard work, some service work on my truck then pinning to the 5ver for a week of R&R at Hampton beach. Long range forecast says a real nice week ahead up there so I expect a hurricane.
Really looking forward to some down time, gonna have the grand daughter teach me how to fish.
Have a great weekend everyone, if your on the road, have a safe and successful trip.

While I'm thinking about it, since everybody here seems to be amuck in all sorts of things, if anybody trips over a junk jeep, I'm looking for connecting rods out of 258 6 cyl. pre 90 yj/cj5/cj7 and j10's. Might be interested in the crank too, but probably easier to just be a new one for the price of shipping and machining.

Evening DTR.
Went to pick up my tie-rods for the truck this morning at the local parts store. Got home to comapre them to whats on the truck, parts guy ordered 98-99 part instead of 00-02. took them back should have the right stuff monday afternoon.
I replaced the EGR valve on moms 300 today, not a bad job to do. I got it done in about 2 1/2 hrs, it's just a tight space to work in under the hood of that car.
Wife made a few more cakes today for her cake business she's doing on the side. If anyone interested in seeing what her work looks like she made a Facebook page for his cakes. http://www.facebook.com/#!/SarahKSweets
Doing some more canning tonight, just got done doing green beans. I'm gonna can some small whole taters next. Tomorrow I'll can more tomato sauce.
Tim, Happy Birthday!!

Last time I tried canning potatos they got really mushy.
Ring a small set of bells. Bears like to eat people wearing bells. In their hurry to get to the bell wearing people, the bears flush the moose out of the alders.
