Did it say, "Here's your sign"?

Been trying to get on for the last 20 minutes. Finally got on but now don't have time to fool around with history and all that stuff. It'll be a wonder if this even posts, we'll see. Have a sappy Saturday.

Spent Thursday and Friday night with the Grandson and a friend. Did the "survival" camp. Taught them to use flint and steel, they had to do the cooking, boiling water, shelter thing. I kinda helped on the food end, but they had to prove themselves by performing accuracy drill with their choice of weapons. Pingpong ***** filled with talcum for targets, 150 feet with .22's.

Good times till they got chased in by coyotes yelping real close about midnight.

Now for the cleanup....

Morning DTR faithful >

I am reprinting this only so you will understand that every one from the Flint,Mich area has a deficiency in typing !

( FLINT, Mich. (AP) - A mas has died after falling from the bed of a pickup truck in Flint. )

It seems at that time when I was in school , there was a big push to use a lot of Latin American teachers , ours arrived 2 or 3 days after school started .
When she arrived she spoke almost no English & we spoke no Spanish ,

when she got upset because we were having difficulty understanding her ,

she would get angry and go off on us in spanish !

iT IS THE ONLY CLASS THAT I EVER DROPPED !

I am spending the day cleaning up sediment and effluent residue and then acid sanitizing the basement floor as a result of last week's septic backup. Anyone want to come help?

Ran a pasture today that needs its barb wire gone. You can stretch the heck outta it, but you can't tighten it. Didn't set my last post and put insulators on around the pen, put in the last post I set, picked up the tamper and turned to put it on the bike, and my back decided it was a good time to hurt like an SOB.

Checked out the bar that the one bar maid from the old bar that I went to went to work at once the old bar closed. Drink prices are the same, but they don't measure, so the drinks are stronger, the food is about the same price, but the plates are bigger, and fuller, and the food's a lot better. And it's 12 miles closer to home.

Was thinking of going to Danbury tonight but I think I'll stay home, drink a Redd's Apple Ale, and maybe see if I can mix something up quick for some kind of a supper.

Chris, it almost would have been worth it. How could I have sent you home on the plane with a few round bales though?? I have most of a sack of sweet feed in the barn and no horses to feed it to, maybe you could have gotten that across the border. Of course an inch thick rib steak (rated Prime!!!!) from the field 60 ft north of my kitchen (aged 28 days) and a plate full of mashed taters and other veggies from the garden might have been compensation enough.

The job in the basement was a lot of work BUT not worth paying a restoration company to do and it was a job that 100% must be done. In each of 4 rooms I had to soak the sediment, scrub it to loosen it, squeegee the mess to one spot and then wet-dry vac up the mess. Then spread acid cleaner on floor, scrub and let sit 20 mins. Scrub a second time and squeegee into a spot where I could wet-dry vac it up. Finally, rinse with hot water, scrub in rinse water, squeegee into one spot and wet-dry vac up the rinse water.

As I expected the job took about 6 hrs from start to finish. It is worth it though. You can't actually live in a house that has septic sediment on the concrete floor and we happen to like to use our basement. That is where the pool table is that DW and I use most Friday and Saturday evenings from October to May.

Tomorrow things will be dry down there and I can start putting things back where they belong.

Given the traffic in the breakroom today, I am probably our last visitor of the day. With that in mind I have filled the coffee and pH00 pots for the morning. There are fresh donuts with pink sprinkles over next to the stove and AGAIN I have thawed a few pounds of bacon (what I usually call rashers - maybe that is what has thrown people off previous weeks). Would whoever is here in the morning please start the coffee and pH00 and fry up the bacon. Have a good evening all y'all. I will see you in the Spring Runoff Breakroom tomorrow morning.

Oh, and Scot-2, Skunks, -2. Almost ran one over with the 3-wheeler on my way out our trail for lunch. Took the 12 gauge back with me and it was still out in the trail laying in the sun. Drove up pretty close, walked to well within shotgun range, and put 4 in it in a hurry. This was mid-afternoon.
