Y'know ... one Monday a week is ok. Ya kinda get used to it ... but to have 5 of the stupid things in a row is ridiculous.
We got the new Chief Selectee's running full speed ...I love this time of year. I only celebrate two holidays a year ... Christmas and Chief's Initiation . Someone can help themselves to my share of the donuts tomorrow ... I will be having mine hand delivered with a piping hot cup of coffee accompanied by a slightly off key version of Anchors Aweigh. I sure am gonna miss some parts of this job .

Hmmmm ... I must've missed that memo too !! My Tuesday was just as lazy and uneventful as my Monday was. This has the makings of a really slooooooow 7 months.
Dinner's done ...think I better have a little nap before I get too tired to go to bed .

Wednesday, another sunny warm day in DC.
Huge project kicks off today.
It was supposed to happen a year ago....
typical government project, behind schedule & over budget
It's either going to take about 8 hours or about three days to complete, depending on how many loose ends have been tied up by the project managers.
Yeah, riiiiiiight.

My Monday here, already off on the wrong foot. No sleep... fire dept had the main road shut down and had to reroute to find another way across the Muskegon River. Lost about a half hour, little late for work and McD's goofed the coffee up. I get here and I see only the plain donuts are left and somebody already licked them for later...

Wednesdays are also the start to this work week for some of us. I had an extra-long-weekend off between graveyards and the daylight shift this time. Would have been real nice if it hadn't gone bad right from the get-go. After pulling a double shift on my last graveyard friday, I get home to find out the septic tank has stopped taking donations. I had to cancel my plans on going to the Diesel drags at the Rock down in NC. Then I had to locate the hatch for the tank and the ground above it was just as hard as the concrete tank. Can't get a pump truck till Monday morning, so I did get to watch the NASCAR race on Sunday. Monday comes and we figure out the level switch on the sewer pump in the septic tank is bad,,,,,, which is good because a new pump starts at $800 ,,,,,, switch is only $100. OK,,, it comes to a total of $280 to get the tank pumped and the switch replaced,,,,, Good Deal!,,,,,, "Oh,,, BTW,,,, I'm afraid our pump truck had a slight hydraulic leak and some of it sprayed on your blue truck,,, we'll knock off $20 so you can get it washed."
Well, accidents happen and at least the guy told me before he left. I ended up having to wash the truck 4 times to get that junk off. It coated the entire pass side and misted the roof, hood, tonneau cover, and even some on the drivers side. I ended up having to use a combo of car wash liquid, Dawn, and Greased Lightning to get it off and then Windex the glass a couple of times. Whew! I only hope that it wasn't too hard on the paint. I made sure to rinse it with water immediatly after I had applied the soap solution. Sure am glad I left the windows up!
OK,,, I feel better now.
Y'all have a good one

:Note to self:
Park Up-Wind from RattlinRam at the next Chapter meeting.
Update on the project.
Loose ends have already begun to unravel.
If "I'm NOT part of the Tech Solution Team", why do I always have to figure out how to make something work with someone else's 'dropped *****' and hosed up ideas?
