bigger tires...

i just bought a 97 ext. cab long box with a leveling kit in the front end. i was wondering if anyone could tell me if i could turn 315/75/16s (basiclly 35/12.5). i called a dealer and they said they would rub hard but i have a friend with the same size tires on his truck and they only rub a little bit when turned super sharp. any advice would be great. TIA

I think it depends on your wheels. I had a 2" lift with 315 70 17's. Thats 34.5x12.50x17. About the same size you're looking at just a diffrent wheel. It didnt rub what so ever. I cant see it rubbing in the back with it being lower either. I was running the H2 wheels though. If you try to do that on a stock wheel.. 1 I think there to narrow for a 12.5" tire and 2 they might rub due to the deeper backspace.
