They'll work. They have about 100 lbs less load capacity than my stock 265's (3085 lb for MT or 3100 lb for STS vs. 3195 lb for stock).

so you think its a D or E, so what exactly does that mean, multiply 3085 x 4 to get the total # and then make sure its over what you truck weighs?

They are probably still a D-rated tire. E-rated tires typically have max. inflation pressure of 80 p.s.i., whereas with D-rated its 65 p.s.i. Interco's site list max inflation of the MT and STS at 65 p.s.i.

If you add the capacity of all 4 tires you'll be over the GVWR of your truck, so you're okay there. What you need to look out for is the loading over the rear axle. Add 2500 lbs of brick to the bed and you'll exceed max load for those tires.

I hear 'ya, I used to get 40k+ with my BFG's also. Those are a great all-purpose tire, although they don't do too well in the but, believe it or not.

I've heard nothing but bad things about those tires. They don't balance well, they wear even worse, and the traction in the mud is down right terrible.

I had some 40 inch bias versions. Worked fine in dry places but once it go wet they sucked.....bad. They also suck in wet sand too. Mine were loud as heck too on the freeway compared to my current tires. Wouldnt buy them again, but like you I got a smokin deal on them. Oh yeah they dont do good burnouts either.

I got a set of 35's on my rig. So far, I like em. Dry traction good, wet traction not so good (makes for interesting freeway merges ). Haven't tried them in the mud, but they work awesome in the sand- wet or dry (10psi). Won't get a chance to see how they handle a load until I get my toyhauler, so I have no input there. They do wear somewhat fast, but which Interco's don't?! I figure with my driving style (mostly conservative 60% highway 40% city) I can maybe squeeze out 20k miles. Oh yeah, they are fairly loud. I would say if you can pick them up for cheap, get em. I'm thinking of Cepek's for my next set or Toyo's.

I had a set of 235/85-16 mt's on a 98 1/2 ton gasser. They were load e with a 10 ply sidewall. They were AWESOME in the mud. But I only got about 15,000 miles out of them and they wore so bad in the front that I thought my alignment was all out of whack. I would NEVER run them on a daily driver. Dedicated off road rig, yes.

This maybe old but I just now saw it.

Those tires ant as bad as yal are makin them out to sts or mt.My buddy have 36X14.50 sts on 16x12 rim on extended cab 02 chevy with 9 inchs of lift.He has about 20k on them right now and they still look good.I think there gonna last about another 17k but he has took care of them, you know the drill every 5k with he oil change.

The mt are a alright tire.To me that don't look that good but my cousion has 33x12.50x16 on his 85 chevy dually (4 inchs of lift, 454, 4 speed and bright tennessse orange) and they have been wearin pretty good but I will tell that don't like a load.
