Got to put a new clutch in again!

For the last few weeks, my SB 3600 12button DD has been getting worse and worse vibrations in it. I was thinking maybe a bad throw-out bearing because it squeaks really bad mostly when you press in the clutch. Then my brother drove it and said it felt all wrong and suggested I call Peter. Peter was fairly certain its a failing clutch lever and was pretty much gonna give me a replacement cover for it. I decided to see if I could upgrade the clutch to a sprung hub and he cut me a GREAT deal on a new sprung hub 3600 12button.

Anyways, I'm hoping that I can get it in before the big April event coming up. Even though I can no longer drag race with my truck, I'd still like to show up driving my diesel.

Fun fun...

Lets just say the G56 has proven itself less than reliable under lots of power. An auto swap is in the distant future, was gonna do it this year but decided to wait til the truck is paid off in a couple more years.

Actually Adam, I'm planning on Saturday if the clutch gets here by then. I'll owe you big if you can swing by and help. The DD clutch is just so darn heavy, I won't manage to place it myself. I'll let you know if it makes it in in time.

Thanks for the offer.

Sorry to hear that keagan, Look on the bright side though if there is one, Your truck is high enough you can atleast sit upright under it when putting the clutch in. Course finding a tranny jack to go that high could be a challenge.

Redneck Engineering 101. Cinder blocks or 35" tires on stock rims with a board laid across it

You are welcome to use my shop if you want, I'm just off Beck's Church rd. I don't have a lift, but plenty of tools and creepers.

I appreciate the offer. But I'll probably stick to the driveway in case something isn't right, the truck won't be stuck taken apart in your shop. I've got wood, blocks, and all the stuff I need to get it done there.

Should be able to pick the clutch up on Friday.

What tranny problems have you had with your power level?

4th gear let go as soon as I started knocking on the 600rwhp door. Not only that, but parts for these aluminum cased trannys are stupidly expensive. You strip one gear and you have to buy a whole new counter shaft with all the cogs instead of just the one you need. There good trannys at stock power levels, just not made for high horsepower. Lots of people have broken them.

Quick Reply: Got to put a new clutch in again!
