I emailed Don and he got back to me within the hour... He knew of NOBODY who could do the work in the Dallas area other than maybe Andy Redmond... Got the number from Rowland... etc... Andy is not set up for rings, but sent me to someone else that may be able to help me out....

Done lots of research the past couple days and still have no set in stone option.

Will say this I will not be doing buisness with piers, a PIA to deal with on the phone so my money will not be going there. Very impressed with Haisley's customer service. Promptly sent me and itemized quote and his recommendation. Very happy. Only downside is the turnaround time is somewhere between 2 days and 2 weeks... Talked to some other smaller operations as well... We will see has to happen soon!! Can't pull the head until Fri eve or Sat morn... Any info on the procedure out there??

HECK if you want to ship it....send it (OR drive it) to me and i will promise you that i can get Keith to get it done within a reasonable amt of time.....always wanted to see how its done anyway. AND i watched him check his work one time for a half an hour to make sure that his cuts were all perfect...i would let him work on my truck if that tells you anything.......

You can find some one to true up the head, i would imagine, down there somewhere.....

Hint....look on your exhaust valve seats and inspect for cracks when you get the head off.....they are small and hard to see but it would be right around where the valve meets the head if you have any at all.......i think they can be fixed though.....

Well the cyl head that we found them on was rode rather hard and put up wet.....so I would assume that EGT's were VERY excessive with a lead foot that didn't care.......

Glad Don got back to you so quick. I just saw him Sunday but we got so busy catching up I didn't think to ask him about your HG. Don has had so much work he actually had to stop taking orders for a couple of weeks just to catch up. I am surprized as big as this area is that there aren't more guys that can do that kind of work (heads). Where did RJ get his head work done? Andy?

It is problems such as Brian's HG that reaffirm my commitment NOT to bomb.

I know what you mean. I wanna do it, but how far do I want to push the envelope remains to be seen. I am soul searching with each passing month.

For the time being, im content to be 2 hp ahead of Tyler.

Yup, Check closely for cracks....
But ignore any 'half moons' on the rim of your pistons. Probably just reflection or some soot.
Do not even consider Piston Slap!

Myself. I'm going to do a few more minor things, but nothing to up the power. Now if I put in a DTT, then I may have to re-evaluate...
