piers dynomania 2005
It was $50 for torque numbers at the NADP dyno event here a couple weeks ago.
If I was gonna pay for the dyno, Piers would get my money.. I know he is gonna get the right numbers and know whats he's doing.. I think thats cheap for a dyno event.
You get what you pay for, free is just that.. Typically those events give you 1 or 2 runs on the rollers and off you go, in and out faster than you can crank the starter. If you have been to a Piers event, you wouldn't even think about the $$$....

Something for nothing. Why do some people always want something for nothing??
And in this case the money is going to charity so what gives??
And you started a thread about it to discourage people from attending??
Now the victims of the hurricane will get less help??
Unbelieveable
I have found most of my customers are very willing to pay a fair price for good work, but there are a few who I turn away who want "something for nothing".
Its the old "I can buy it over there for less" "then what are you doing here"?
I have given all I can to help in the relief effort and want to give more. If I could double up by someone having a dyno day where I could get my truck dynoed and give to help all at once, how cool would that be
But, No, some how its not good enough, go figure

Thanks MDW... My thoughts too.
Ever bought a dyno lately???? They aren't cheap and upkeep isn't free either.
I think the thumbs down for this event is in poor taste.... IMHO...

He was instrumental in the Founding and Maintaining the NWBombers website www.nwbombers.com
His passing has saddened quite a few people, as he was one of the best friends a person could ever hope for. If we treated each other half the time the way he treated everyone all the time the world would be in much better shape.
I find your thumbs down comments on this topic to be offensive. Piers has always taken the time to help others in need.
It's my belief that you are spouting off on people and a subject you know little about.

A 10 hour drive means nothing. 50.00 is pocket change.... heck that would only get you a flat of beer.
I am glad i was able to make Rob Hanson's Feb BOMB party this year! Turns out that God called him home to work on his Dodge shortly after that. Rob's favorite job at the parties were injector swaps. I guess God needed someone to install the new sticks on his CTD... and so called our friend Rob home
He leaves behind a very rich legacy of friendship and camaraderie.
He will be missed.
Piers hosting this charity is a really kind gesture. It speaks volumes about what he is all about
Well every year someone seems to complain about something. Again it is hard to please everyone. We did change our dyno fee after suggestions from others that most would glady pay a fee of $40us or $50cdn to dyno there truck for HP and TORQUE readings like we do every year and generate more money for the ALS society at the same time.
If Rob hadn't past away earlier from ALS, chances are the hurrican victoms would have been our next choice as a charity this year. Over the years we have given all the money to charity's like the Childrens hospital, Burn unit, Basic's for baby's and the Interior fire relief.
So please take a look at what you are saying and be happy your money went to a good charity.

The last Houston Dyno Day I went to cost me $50 U.S. for 3 pulls, torque readings included. I managed to get 4 pulls since the dyno operator and I were curious about 5th gear versus 6th gear results. The money didn't go to any charity, insofar as I know.
