MD Chapter #33 never ending thread.

Yeah, I read that.
I'm staying at Acorn Campground (sounds luxurious, huh?)
We used to go EVERY year, except, back in 2004 I caused a domestic dispute on the family vacation that has had the wife not wanting to go back (till now that is).
I like WildWood a lot, better than Ocean City Maryland by far.

Well when you get older and settle down it's a great place to take the family. Alcohol free boardwalk with Morey's piers, amusement parks on the piers. Tons of stuff to do. My son and i are going on a charter fishing boat.

Gents -
Anyone done a VP44 install? I do not have a check engine light but I have all of the death codes. Truck surges quite a bit at mid RPMs. I was hoping it was an APPS related problem but the codes say otherwise. Also, my comp (no wire tap) went TU on me. It's at Edge now. Talked with Doug at PDW and he said do a FASS and be done with it when I replace the VP. I know a few of the CPT #33s have FASS and there are mixed reviews.
This will be the 6th VP on my truck. Ouch. 2 of those were bad rebuilds though. I don't know how much more patience I can have, especially since I didn't have the wire tapped and was monitoring FP.
Thanks for any insight or empathy...
Jason

Jason, we can do your VP44 swap...but we need a few things-
Get a cummins 5.9 barring tool (i think its called that, for cranking the engine over using the flywheel teeth).
Order a fass and big line kit ( you want volume, not pressure) I have a bunch of 1/2" hydraulic hose left over from when i repaired my fuel line. I'll get you a list of fittings and such for hooking up to the vp44 so as to not have any restrictions there either.
also need a small extendable magnet where the manget on the end is a cylinder shape about 1/2" in diameter, and we will need to cut the stick down so its short enough to fit behind the fan and into the opening in the timing gear case. once you take the nut off the VP44 shaft, you put the magnet on the end of the shaft and its helpful in guiding that little lock washer off the shaft so it doesnt fall in the timing case and ruin our weekend!

So how's everyone doing? I think my bald spot is pretty well burnt. Been drinking and just relaxing by the beach. Weather has been pretty good, spent too much money today at the stupid arcade and didn't win any of those expensive prizes.
I'll be back Friday, when do we want to do the next wrenchin day?
Gotta get TJ's truck done so he can compete.
Tj did you get that truck?
