Claremont results ...
Re:Claremont results ...
Back home today after a simply BEEEEEEEutiful day yesterday "hanging with the homeboys, and gals" at Claremont.
I got to meet the people behind the posts, and put some faces to the names I've had electronic corespondence with all this time.
Thanks to Scott for making the long trek from the Penguin Harem to Southern Virginia.
Thank go out to Rod at Wildcat Diesel and Scotty Air Sytems, and Larry (Top) and others (that my failing memory can't remember
) for providing the great prizes.
The food was cooked to perfection.
The dyno team had a busy day and posted some impressive (and a few unexpected) numbers.
Thanks to the Surrey Vol. Fire Company for letting us use their beautiful facility.
Also Kudos to Joel for setting this up and securing the site for the meet.
Hope your neighbors will at least give you a coupla days warning before they attack.
Hope everyone had/has a safe trip home.
As for the Dyno results, Joel took a pic last night and will probably post the results tonight or tomorrow.
PS I'll bet Dennis(Rattlin') is STILL trying to get that grin off his face after yesterday's "Test-Drive"

I concur with everything that Ed has already posted!!
<br><br>Johnner and I had a GREAT time again! It was good to<br>see everyone again and to finally meet the "names behind<br>the faces", like "Scotty" and "Top." Our thanks to Joel for<br>all the work he did organizing all of this and to those who<br>helped, to the volunteer fire department for the use of the<br>great facility, to all the vendors and people who donated<br>the door prizes (I actually won two myself ;D) and to Leigh<br>for the excellent hamburgers and BBQ!! It was great to see<br>all of the "Kentucky DTR Crew" again too!! Rickie, you keep<br>those guys in line now!
David, you guys did a great<br>job with the dyno! Thanks for coming up!<br><br>We hit two police roadblocks on the way home
! One was<br>set-up right down the street from the fire department! We<br>made it through that one O.K. and then Johnner and I hit<br>another one just as we came into New Bern, N.C. <br>Fortunately, I wasn't driving in my usual manner!

Re:Claremont results ...
I made it home. ;D ;D ;D
Joel (insert a little clapping icon) *
, Wonderful job organizing AND picking great folks to organize with. Fire department was awesome, Butch doing the name tags so it was easy to put a face to a name, Scotty and Wildcat for tremendous support with door prizes, Leigh for great food, and the list goes on. We need more events like this!!! 8)
The dyno time for me was great. We got to spend time with each truck, take pictures for the graphs, and just take it down a notch. I needed that. We took about 10 hours for 15 trucks. John and Johnner even made a plate adjustment on the dyno for a truck and we got to see the difference it made. We played "bracket dyno" for the first time and Leigh (Mrs. Papa Smuff) took home the cash with her prediction of about 3 hp within actual.
I just had a great weekend period. Isn't it about time to start the Claremont Round-up 04 thread?
I'll post dyno numbers tomorrow when I get to the shop and unload.

Re:Claremont results ...
Just a few words of thanks from the "Prez" as Dennis says.<br><br>Everyone said good job to me for setting this up. That was the easy part, I just picked the date and the location. Everyone else did the work that made the event a success. I'd like to pass along a few words of thanks to those that really made it happen.<br>Thanks first if all to the good Lord above for giving us the health we have and the two beautiful days for the event. (if that offends you, tough crap)<br>Thanks to CVFD for letting us use their space for the event. The facilities were great and the location was easy for the out of towners to find I hope (except for Dennis).<br>Thanks to my son for bringing his grill and for cooking the 18 T-bone steaks the first night. Hope everyone that got one enjoyed that. He is quite the cook on the grill.<br>Thanks to Butchera for designing the name tags and publishing them in time for the event even on short notice.<br>Thanks to DavidTD and his friend for dragging the dyno all this way. Hope they made enough to make it worth their while.<br>Thanks to Top and Scotty for supplying all the really nifty door prizes given out. That was an excellent idea and was greatly appreciated by a whole lot of winners. <br>Thanks to my wife, her friend Norma, and my sons girl friend for running the raffle ticket booth. They took in $348 in donations and ticket sales and I'm going to add $125 to that. I think the CVFD people will be happy. We kept their place clean and they had minimal involvement. I made several rounds before I left today and dumped all the trash and made sure the bathrooms were clean.<br>Thanks to the Smurfs for supplying the food, the super grille, and the superb cooking skills. My son tried his best to get them to leave the grille behind for several months.<br>Thanks to JohnP and Banshee for getting Got Milks truck straight on the wiring and gauges.<br>Thanks to all the members that showed up and I hope you all had a good time and that it was worth while. The CVFD will definately appreciate your donations.<br>If I missed anyone, I'm truly sorry and send me a PM and I will add you to the thanks list. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and tried to be a good host. Top is going to print me a certificate of appreciation to present to the CVFD along with the money.<br>That is about all I can think of for now except for the fact that the 5.9's tasted really good after everyone left and I sat there talking to David and his friend for a while. I got a little head start on everyone since I popped the first top and about 09:30 Friday morning and then again Saturday morning. Phew, glad I don't do that every day.<br>Thanks again to all that participated and once I get out of this next shut down in November, we will start discussing the second annual event.........................<br><br>Joel Williams<br>Dieseldude4x4
Re:Claremont results ...
It was a really great event. I know us KY boys really enjoyed ourselves. We had a blast. I want to thank the same people the others have. I would also like to say thanks to John P. and Banshee for the help on the guages and TiminVA for the electrical supplies. John P. and Banshee also gave me some great tips and really took care of me. Thanks to Scotty from Wildcat Diesel and Top for the door prizes. And thanks to everyone else who supplied the door prizes and also the food. It was all great. David thanks for the great dyno run. Can't wait to do it again soon. thanks to everyone who I might have left out and just to let everyone know....you missed one great event. Hope next year is just as good or better....but this time without the roadblocks (John P. and Banshee
[undecided]
)<br><br>got milk?

Re:Claremont results ...
We also had a great time. I made it home for most of the race. Every event we go to we enjoy even more. Tim, Thanks for the hand with the TST. I turned it off for my tow home but I will play with my new toy in prep for a trip to the local drag strip. That will be coming up soon. ;D <br> <br>We to want to echo the thanks for such a great weekend, This was the best weekend event that we have been to so far. We are glad we could be a part of the event.
<br><br>Mrs. Smurf says she spent alot of time figuring out the HP of her "strong running Stock Truck"

While she was cooking dinner of course. 8) In a few months I hope to have her "Stock Truck" running as strong as my "Stock Truck".<br><br>It was great seeing every one again and hope to see ya all soon.<br>See Ya<br>Chris & Leigh <br>

I had a blast. <br><br>Joel nailed it all on the head, and I would like to echo what he said. I haven't made it to as many of these as I would like, but it was good to see those of you I have met before, again.<br><br>DavidTD... thanks for giving John_P and Banshee the time to help me with my plate adjustment. Sure gotta watch those EGTs now though! ;D Before I dyno'ed, I thought I had just the right amount of power...... NOT! I'll have to get that 4" exhaust before I go any further; I'm gettin' into the red zone of the gauge too easy now.<br><br>John_P and Banshee.... thanks again! If you're talking about the roadblock at the intersection of Route 10 and 646, I got stopped at the same roadblock. Seemed like they were looking for something, or someone, in particular..... there were two Troopers checking driver's licenses of vehicles going all four directions of that intersection.<br><br>I couldn't help but laugh after Dennis plugged in that box and loved the results. Seems to me that the last time I got together with you all, Tim got FishCop hooked also.<br><br>Here's a picture of the dyno numbers, but I don't think this pic has all the numbers on the board.<br><br>
Re:Claremont results ...
Anyone have a list of the mods the trucks had? I really like to get data. All I can. If you guys have anything to add as far as mods, type of engine ( 12 or 24, ECHO ) that would be cool.

WaHooo!!,,,,,,, ;D
What a weekend! ;D Thanks to the "Big Guy" in charge of the weather and smiles. And the smiles were plentiful. Thanks to the CVFD and all the door-prize and food/refreshment providers.
Sorry I didn't get over to the firehouse on Sunday in time to say goodbye to David and Randy. Those two guys seemed like they worked their butts off Saturday and I don't know where they got the energy to keep jumping up and down off the dyno and crawling in and out from under the trucks. I'm not sure whether to thank all the folks who kept prodding me to dyno and volunteering all the "Go Fast" info, but after David took the VA box (almost the same as an Edge EZ) off his truck and put it on mine to show me the difference on the dyno, then told me to take my truck for a test drive with it on,,,,,,,,,,, I am now HOOKED!
8) ;D
I noticed I wasn't the only one smiling after playing with my truck either. Cethane had a big smile on his face after doing some turbo work on his truck and getting rid of some unwanted lag. Tim's Dad had a big smile on his face while he supervised the work being done on his truck by Tim and friends. Top, Stamey, Scotty and Shovelhead were smiling while making fun of my "Cute Little Truck" :
,,,,,,,,,,, and the list could just go on and on. I think the only frown at the event, was one of depression when some of my "Friends" decided to have fun with Dennis and give me a 165 hp result for the first run on the dyno. :'( I will remember you fellas,,,,, I'll try to repay ya the favor sometime,, Oh,,, and BTW,,, RATTLIRAM managed a 198.8hp/386.7trq in total stock form & 225.8hp/477.8trq with the barrowed VA ;D
Thanks to a winning ticket for the Wildcat Diesel fuel system upgrade which I will install as soon as I talk to Rod for directions (I couldn't get Scotty to install it before he left)
Sure hope the Kentucky group waited to get home before they decided to try out that shotgun door-prize,,,,,, if not,,,,, they probably ate good on the ride home (I've heard Virginia Deerbugers are real tasty!).
Maybe we should have had the drawing for that first and the DTR chefs (Josh and the Smurf family) wouldn't have had to go to the store.
All in all,,,,,,,, I would say we had a great turnout and I can't wait for the next one. I would like everyone that attended to give yourselves a big pat on the back because you are the ones that made this weekend such a big success.
Hope everyone made it home safely
Dennis
