The NWS dropped the chance of rain by 10%. Its 20% now and no mention of thunderstorms.

Won't some of the trucks, like John P's be running in 4x4 for the majority of the strip anyway?

No buddy, I leave the staging lanes in 4WD High and just as soon as the truck shifts into second gear I push the transfer case shifter from 4WD High back to 2WD.

The track officials are not going to allow any drag racing if the track is wet or it has been raining. The liability to them is just too high. Like David said,
we have to THINK POSITIVE!! NO RAIN, NO RAIN!!
