Cliffy,
With the harboring of ill feeling towards some of us on DTR, why do you NWB keep posting up your events on this site? We left your site for peace and better knowledge in a better place. Some of your Moderators choose to tell lies about us on NWB and then lock the threads so their lies cannot be challenged. When on his own, one of your members decides to post our last event on your site, we get comments like "Who gives a rats *** about the DTR" (quote by SlyBones aka Fred). And, when some members of both sites disagree with Freds comment, the thread is locked. We do not post on your site or have any interest in doing so. With exception to a couple good members of your site, none of you have joined the WADTR chapter or have shown any interest in any of our gatherings. I know that you also have the right to post your gatherings on the DTR, but, if our gatherings are locked down on your site, why should the DTR allow you to post on here.

Just my opinion, and my .02 cents. Please respect our WADTR chapter and our interest in making it grow.

Joe
Member of the WADTR

I am watching this one real close guys, I know there was a problem at one time, but I DO NOT want it spilling over here.

In the interest of a possible healing through dialogue, I will allow this to remain for the time being. If it begins to slide even farther than it alrerady has it will be pulled from view.

Come on guys, lets just all try to get along as best we can here.

After this post in a recent thread, found here in the "Events" forum, about a WADTR gathering, I placed the following person on my contact list.

dang.... Ya shoulda called me Eric - I'd've stopped by!

Of course, I knew who this was. He happens to be a Moderator over @ another site. He also happens to be an interested CTD owner who has been over to my place more than once, and lives nearby.
In our subsequent e-mail conversations, though I did not request it, he mentioned that he would post notice of DTR gatherings on said other site. Seeing no need for division, and attempting to be helpful and inclusive, I did not object to him doing so. Perhaps I should have, as the mere mention of the DTR caused some to get pretty riled up. Regretfully, I have since asked him to reconsider future postings of that sort. We would rather be inclusive than exclusive, but do not wish to be the cause, even indirectly, of conflict on either site.
Though efforts to bridge the gap in the Pacific Northwest have not proven to be fully sucessful as yet, we of the WADTR will continue to extend our resources to all CTD owners in Washington State. The WADTR is growing, albeit slowly, but surely.

We in the Pacific Northwest stand by the mission statement of DTR, and are thankful for the vast range of information available here.

Re:Another NWB BOMB Party! U R Invited

As the Administrator of the NW Bombers, I would like to make a few short comments. I would generally agree that discussions would solve many problems...

A lot of us on the bombers site come over here to learn and help, too. Me, included.

I locked that thread for many reasons. I, like Jack, do not want to see things get out of hand. My immediate concern with the thread was that a few banned members would try once again to register and post, stirring the pot and adding to the flames. (I have only banned 3 members in over a year, one has subsequently been given his posting priveleges back).

There are a lot of good people out there. I run my site for those people. I spend a great deal of time reading every post and trying to keep things on somewhat of an even keel. Should I have locked that thread? I still believe it was the right thing to do, and would do it again today, if necessary.

Some people are not happy wherever they go, whether it be here or bombers. To them, I say: start your own site and allow us to enjoy ourselves.

For Jack and your moderators, here is my post on the NWBombers site when I locked that thread...if you have any further questions, please email me at:
rhanson117@aol.com

Also, please pay particular attention to the last three paragraphs.

OK then.

Let's not let this get out of control!

Like everything else, I have an opinion on this, too...

DTR is a nice site, and I am a member over there. I have been for a few years. Way before BigK went over there. They have some good info, and at times, I try to add to it.

With that being said, I am sure that all the people who remember the split when a few went to DTR permanently there were a few harsh things said, and several people were told to choose between NWB and DTR. This ultimatum of sorts, was not by NWB. As I recall, there was even some light harassment about not choosing one or the other. Even some posts on NWB

A few people called me and a few people came over to tell me about it. My response remains the same now, as it was back then:

It doesn't matter what you choose. It doesn't matter if you do not choose. Go to both sites and both parties and have a good time. This truck stuff is not about choosing sides. Its about having fun. Go to wherever you have some fun and learn more about your truck and this mighty cummins!

The Pay it Forward theory has nothing to do with choosing sides.

Now, I will be locking this thread. Whoever wants to argue more about this, please use a PM or an email. If you have want, you may certainly PM or email me with your comments and/or concerns.

While I strongly disagree with the accuracy of some of the statements made by Ramflasher, I do agree with the above.

I believe that it is inappropriate to post incorrect information, rumor, and heresay.
I will comment no further, and merely refer you to my comments in my post above.

Lary,
I thought this subject was over? ??? Everything was settled down until ramflasher's post of the truth as he sees it. He says what he wants on his site then locks it down having the last word always. Then he continues them here and you thank him? ??? I'm sorry, I just don't understand.

I am well aware that you do not understand how I feel about this. I told you guys when you first came over here that this problem was NOT to be brought here.

You choose to do so anyway, We have talked about this before, nothing new here , I STILL don't want it here. I left it up hoping only that it would lead to some dialog that might help you guys get past this thing.

I thanked Ramflasher for his courteous reply, and appreciate anyone who can discuss this problem on a rational level. As the President of the National Chapter DTR #1, you have my support, but not in keeping an argument on going that came about prior to the formation of the WADTR.

I will not ask NWB to not post here, as they are not breaking any rules in doing so. I am not taking sides in this issue, but I will exercise my duties as moderator if and when necessary.

If there is any of this you do not understand, feel free to let me know in PM, I will attempt to secure an understanding with you on my feelings in this matter.

Re:Another NWB BOMB Party! U R Invited

Sadly it took such an arguement to find out about DTR. But i am glad to see where a few past NWB members have gone to. And BigK I hope to make it to another get together of yours soon. Things that were said on NWB shouldn't have been said! and hopefully you all here know that we aren't all like that. These two sights are being torn apart like they're cometing companies. Hopefully we can keep it about just having fun with the trucks. Can't wait to meet some of you. see ya ;D
