Re:Alberta DTR#5 Meet..

Ya it was a little cold in the wind to do much chitchatting, but it was good to talk to few DTR that could make it and some new faces at the DTW. As I suspected, the table split into to ends, but thats the interest of the sport.

I hope to have the DTR events planned soon for the new year and we can have some good times when the sun starts shining for more than 8 hrs..LOL..

Re:Alberta DTR#5 Meet..

Hey guys thought you'd get a kick out of this story. On the way home from Tony roma's I was out a head of the pack driving my usual 110 and the "hemi gang" pulls up wanting to race. Well..... I turned the box to 5x5 and gave Mr.Hemi the thumbs up. We raced from 100 km/h up, frist go around I spanked him by 3 truck lengths before I hit the brakes. He pulls up again, I think he thought I jumped the gun? Second time at least a 2 truck advantage. This guy still thinks I'm doing somthing wrong third go I beat him so bad he didn't even say bye. Then the truck right behind us that was watching all of this wants his chance. The Alberta Chapter pres pulls up wanting to do the same thing, we count it down and hit the pedals I must have beat him by 5-7 truck lengths at least, he pulls up shaking his head, but wants to do it again. This time I giver I i had by the time I hit the breaks his truck was so far back I couldn't tell how bad it actually was. On the DTW site they want to now what I'm running, but I don't tell secrets I also informed them I was the second lowest Hp truck there, they now have more respect for us!!! ;D They way I saw it CTD 5 - Hemi 0 ;D

Re:Alberta DTR#5 Meet..

That is funny.. I saw them looking down the table to see what we were talking about, exhaust brakes etc. If they would have tried that with MDK's truck, it would have been scary. THey may have gotten nervous when the truck shoots sideways at 100 KPH... I thought those hemi boys were gonna try something... Good Show GW!!!

Wait till you are "modified" GW, then the fun begins...LOL..

I saw JHansen giving some smoke to the guys on the way out too...LOL...nice to see 9000Lbs jump like that...

It just not right to have Cummins guys and Hemi guys together at the same time....

Re:Alberta DTR#5 Meet..

I was going pretty easy on the Silver Cloud as I am super paranoid about popping the head gasket when it's cold. So a couple good puffs of smoke leaving the Centrium was about all I did. Too bad I hadn't run down #2 home as well-the boys could have gotten the chance to wash some soot off the front ends of their trucks! ;D

It was a good time though-worth the drive up. Next time I'm sure will be that much better.

Re:Alberta DTR#5 Meet..

Sorry I missed the event but working back in McMurray means a 900 mile commute on a 3 day weekend. Kind of disappointed as it was the closet get together to my house yet and I could not get there. Dr. Evil Hemi's are part of Dodge performance history and numbers are proof of common interest which helps promote good discounts and versatile aftermarket goodies for us Ram guy's that always get short changed. Although Hemi's and Cummins are different methods of burning fuel we both have the power advantage over the competition right now with superior stock specs for pulling and performance in their respective displacement classes. Remember if you can't Dodge it Ram it because the other boys Chuv it or leave it and Fix Or Repair Daily. PK

Yup would have to agree with that...especially the part about Hemis being an important part of Dodges history....would have been nice to be 18 years old in the late 60's....As for the Hemi guys....I was just joking around, but you are going to get different opinions and guys who think they are going to show up the diesels when you mix diesels with gassers.

Re:Alberta DTR#5 Meet..

Cruising down the good ole Trans Canada heading to Regina along came a Hemi.
Me with 24ft tag enclosed with some toys in it and him with a travel trailer on. Gives the head shake like no you can't and yes I did...show him...flipped that lil switch under the dash and bye bye Hemi

;D

The hitch is a foot longer now too.
