My project

Just thought i would start a thread about the different things i will change on my truck. I will try and add more pics as i get them.

First off, its a 1991 w250 5spd with 252,000kms. The previous owner took really good care of it as it was in his family since new.

The PO added what looks like a 3'' block in the rear because he hauled a heavy gooseneck with it, you can see the rear is higher than the front.

As far as i can tell it is completly stock other than the front bumper which looks to be an aluminum ali-arc.

Well i finally got around to installing the upgraded metal sockets for the throttle linkage, mine were worn pretty good. Drives much better without the slop, more responsive for sure.

I also backed out the high speed throttle stop while i was there.

Installed my 3 in 1 guage and took it for a spin, here is the results:

Unloaded WOT i see 12-14psi boost and a quick EGT spike of about 1000 then it comes back down.

In town cruising i see little to no boost and EGT's of 2-450.

My fuel pressure (without snubber) fluctuates 5-7PSI at idle and has dropped for a short time to 3PSI while WOT.

This is all with the H1C lagmaster (21cm).

Upgrades to come: HE351CW, PS IC, 3'' cooler tubez, 366 spring, denny t pin, tach, electric fuel pump, clutch, 4'' diamond eye, new springs and shocks (lift?), 12K winch under bed.

So i hooked up to my camper to see if i could load the turbo up more.

Camper=~2500lbs (not much of a load but its the heaviest i have right now). WOT still getting 12-14lbs boost and EGT spike up to 1050 then back to 6-750 while pulling at 65mph. I did see about 2lbs boost while at 65mph and that increased much quicker on small hills.

I also saw the fuel pressure drop to 2PSI for a short moment while at WOT, looks like i will need to upgrade to the electric pump soon.

I like that gauge. I have 3 of them yet to install in any trucks.

Nice truck.

Just an FYI for those asking about my bumper. I spoke to AliArc and they used to make a bumper for 91-93 dodge trucks but do not anymore. They still have the plans and can make them for someone if desired, part# DGB-219. You cannot order directly from Aliarc though, you will have to order from one of their distributors. I am still waiting on a price from our local rep for info purposes.

Have another question, trying to figure out if my rear has been lifted or the front is sagging. Not sure what is stock.

The front almost looks like the second longest leaf has been added.

Anyone run the rear without the extra spring on the top? I had 900lbs in the bed this winter and i just had the spring tips touching the frame stops. That made it not ride the best, i would need 1500lbs to ride better i think.

I have minimal damage compared to her totalled grand am.

My bumper took 90% of the hit, if you look closely you can see it is twisted now.

Had my friend with a bodyshop check it out, figures 4000 or so in damage. Insurance will cover it but its still a crappy deal.

Too bad on such a clean truck. The guard sure paid for itself , and if you can get it all made right no great harm done. Does that guard hinge down for grill access or can you unbolt and remove completely?

The guard and bumper is one piece, bolted to frame.
