I'll probably drive my truck up with the convoy should be a fun event. Do you think we should make hotel reservations in Jan/Feb for the event? If so where? Any recommendations of places close to the event site?

For those who say they are just gonna drive down and not enter an event...I know its nice to have your own truck there to show off, but in total that weekend will put at least 1600 miles on your truck, and with fuel prices it only seems logical to maybe cut it back to a few trucks and trailers, then we can split driving time and fuel costs.

as for 2 of our trucks on a gooseneck, do as you want, but it wont be my truck on that load. you will be over the GVWR on the truck doing the pulling.

yes they have a street class which is bracket racing anyway so it doesnt matter if you have a 17 or 13 second ride

TJ brings up a good point, this said, I'm willing to leave my rig at home and ride up there in another truck, will of course split costs...which will help out our Pullers and racers on some of their overall weekend costs

I agree with TJ, the only reason my truck is going it to haul another truck, if it is not needed then mine will not be there. I know that several members have the ability to pull a gooseneck, we just need to try to maximise the benefit with confirmed pullers/haulers and participants so that we do not have an odd man out. As for the two trucks on one trailer, I was not thinking about the overweight part, we would have to dodge the scales, which I do not condone, nor will I participate in if this is the case. Maybe we just need 25' trailers or so so that the trucks on trailers can be weighted properly. Just my .02

I do not mind who I tow, I also do not mind towing, or using my truck to go out there. I am not interested in participating in any of the events that weekend, at least as of now since I am not finished with my rig. I would say that whoever is going to participate should get with someone and see if they will tow them down there. Everyone that is towing needs to make sure that the trailer that they are towing works with their rig well before this so that we are not scrambleing trying to get lights/brakes to work or what not.

I have excess to a trailer, and TJ when you trying to sell your trailer buy? I m really considering taking the trailer off your hands. also i will not be taking part in any event. so you can pair me up will someone. Tj if you want to cut me a break on the trailer i will tow on down for free. how much cheaper is fuel down there. I might load up with extra tanks and maybe some 55 gals drums. lol

trailer can be sold anytime...i cant cut you a break on it tho cuz its not mine, its pops, and he wont budge on his price.

i wouldnt recommend towing one of these trucks on it long distance, being a deck over its top heavy, thats why i am going to a gooseneck. its worked great for short distances tho.

and mike, friendly suggestion, if you are worried about having a trailer there so you can go 700 miles to drag...you might wanna think about just watching. i dunno if you guys realize how long this trip is, it takes a good 16 hours towing a heavy trailer with fuel/food stops.
