Talking MD Chapter #33 Never ending thread Part IV

Well it's time to kick off another thread. The other one is getting pretty long.
I'm not going to the Renaissance festival Sat but have rescheduled it for Sept 29th. Anyone interested in coming is welcome.
Sunday at noon we will be working on Mike's truck so come on over if you want to watch, heckle or help.
Oh ya and tonight Keith is getting a new exhaust.

Yea, everyone at work keeps wondering why I go out every few hours and squirt something under my hood (the PB Blaster on those down pipe bolts)

I'll check on the 29th, we usually wait until it is cooler out, it may be by then.

I'll check our calendar, we'd really like to go to the Renaissance fest. Won't be able to make this weekend at the Cave, have to get caught up on house work after all those weekends away.

Goerend

Talked with Dave Goerend the other day and went through a question and answer session with him about what his suggestion for my truck would be. Basically he suggested that if I'm not looking to be a competetive puller/dragger and I keep the power mods modest then I would only really need a TC (Triple Disk w/ Life Time Warranty), the High Strength 1-2 Band apply lever, High strength apply strap and anchor for band, and a couple other small items. He also said we could turn the pressure screw on the VB out a turn or two to help. The total w/ shipping and after the core refund ($300) $1460. So it looks like we could be doing my trans pretty soon. I also have an eye on some guages.

Mom's in St Joes and doing well so I went over and watched Jeopardy and then I had a kids birthday party at the bowling alley, so I missed the exhaust install. How does it sound? Was it raining when you all got done, could you really get on it? Does it sound much different than a CR? SD, do you like it?

Special thanks to Scotte, Ernie, and Travis on assisting on the install. We got it knocked out pretty quick. No I couldn't really get on it as it was raining pretty good when I left, but I think it sounds awesome. Just loud enough to know something is there, but quiet enough to keep the wife happy. I managed to make it drone once trying to lug it (which is hard to do in an auto). I'm going to love it I'm sure.

Did notice a big change in EGTs already. Cruising seemed to be quite a bit lower than with the stock system. Can't wait to hook up the boat and tow it around to see how it does when I'm getting on it with the boat attached.

As for quality, nice system, perfect fit (had to cut a bit off the tail pipe section that was it).

I'm headed to the dump today with old system in the bed (along with a bunch of other stuff from my yard), and I will get a chance to "get on it".

Keith -
glad you like it! Put a 4"-5" tip on that thing are you are set.
Shooting season is winding down and I hope to run over and hang out more this fall.

Talking Dyno

Here are my results from the dyno on Saturday.
Low # is stock baseline
443/803 is Predator Extreme RKL with Puck on "90"
462/816 is Predator Extreme RKL with Puck on "50" started at 60 MPH
452/799 is Predator Extreme RKL with Puck on "50" Started at 70 MPH so the clutch would not slip
You can clearly see that I need a better clutch. I should have been able to lay down closer to 500 HP with a clutch that would hold.
