Everything else has pretty much been said.
On a related note, make sure the neck is jacked up high enough before you try to back underneath to hook up. Otherwise you will have a custom tailgate that works well for hauling pipe.

No need to remove it, especially if you're not going off-road or through some really steep ditches. Besides, if the ground is that uneven, you'll have to watch the bedsides as well as the tailgate. But it has to be pretty bad before it becomes an issue.

Picked up my Goose tonight! All is well except for a harsh bounce i get in the rear of the truck between 20-30mph. I'm thinking its bouncing on the overloads! sitting idle I got 2" on the front and 1.5" on the rear overload bumpstop.

Where's the pics buddy!

How did you like the tow other than the bumps?

Keep the tires up there (70-75) so you don't roll the tires of the rims when you jack-knife or cut things short .. I have a set of shocks on my small GN it takes a lot of the bounce out of things when it is empty

Under 20mph and over 30mph it rode nice and pulled nice. Backing up is something to get used too. at one point I had the trailer parked in the driveway and the dodge on the street parked along the curb! I'll get some pics tomorrow when I take it out again.

I'm not sure the bounce was in the goose. I am really leaning towards the closeness of the overloads to bumps, old shocks and possible traction bars binding the suspension.

I'm gonna tinker tomorrow.

Can you see the GN ball for aligning the trailer?

I have 1 of these in both trucks, quad cab / long bed / tool chest makes it hard to see things. just place it in front of the ball, line up things when it starts to tip your there!

http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/...ubmit2=find+it

They cost less then $10..

Here's my 32'

I have a mirror I picked up I was going to mount on the top of the goose to help line up the ball. But that magnetic is another good Idea!

Nice Goose!.....Does it glow in the dark lol!

Two dark pics!

Look at the relationship of the flatbed of the goose to the levelness of the tail gate. Something look twisted to you? I'm wondering if thats my issue? Looking out the back window the gooseneck itself is twisted to the passenger side. Should I be concerned?

Loaded my Jeep up on and took her for a ride. Boy is my truck ****** LOL. Its definitly heavier then my old 16' bumper pull!

I painted the GN Trailers "Day-Glow-Yellow" so that they could be spotted from the air in case they should ever disappear.. Besides it is a free yard light

The trailer twist needs to be checked on a big flat lot, look at the main / goose neck frame.. A twist would cause it track bad and not ride rough..

And its tracking straight as an arrow.

I replaced my shocks tonight with the heaviest duty one I could find locally And removed my traction bars(which 2 joints were very loose).

I'll hitch up tomorrow and see what she does.

Keep in mind, You can back a goosneck into places you cannot pull it out of. A friend of mine told me that years ago and I thought he was full of it, until it happened to me. Because you can Jacknife a gooseneck it can happen. I jacknifed one ito a dock so we could side unload a forklift off of the trailer and it happened to be at end of a long alley, then I could not get it back out. It makes you feel stupid , but it can happen.
