I just filled the jetta up at $3.54. It was $3.60 down the road.
Today marks the highest amount I've ever paid for diesel in my life.
Gas was 3.13 at the same place.

I'll still be driving my Jetta TDI.

FWIW, diesel in Malibu CA was $3.86 today; and here I thought $3.36/gal at home was a lot. Regular unleaded was $3.23 on the Navy base (about .40 cents cheaper than in town).

With the rising rates now, how long before Diesel is $4.00? I say by January. At that point, i think i will sell my truck because I don't see diesel EVER going to $3.00 or less. This world is doomed.

I was looking into the 2009 Diesel Accord, (wife is on her second one, has an 07 now). Go figure, most of the information is on tree hugger hybrid sites so far. Anyway, the accord sounds sweet at 52 MPG.

Check this out:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tf4gOS8aoFk

He'll be getting a knock on the front door momentarily.........

$3.39 here... We have a 06 Dakota and a 91 Nissan 4x4 to switch to as needed. I am lucky enough to live like 10 miles from work. I have had my truck nearly year now. I have not even broke 9000 miles yet and thats with a trip to Alabama.

Which is ridiculous, they should be running the no-tax stuff anyway. All summer diesel was MUCH less than gas on the water, like up to $.80 less. I can't for the life of me figure out how it swings in one direction or the other like this.

It is. the marina was near va beach and gas wasnt much less. ive never seen it that much higher at a marina, when i had a boat it was always cheeper. it was ultra low sulfer, i thought the same thing it should be the no tax stuff.

Ah, I tend not to believe that. The prices SKYROCKETED a month before anyone in New England even fired up their heat.

I would just love for someone to explain why since the absolute beginning of time diesel was cheaper than gas.......? What happened in 2002/2003?
