Just bought 6.7 any advise
Research and make sure all the TSBs from the production date of your truck, to current are checked and repaired, make sure the engine has a current ECM flash and you should have a good start.
Make sure to have the engine up to temp BEFORE driving, keep the engine in its opt operating/torque range of 1800/2000 rpm for mileage and self cleaning and never lug the engine.
Pay little attention to the few vocal bashers of 6.7s, they are the vast MINORITY.
OR
Take everything off your tool set will allow, start and immediately drive it while shifting at min 3500 on every gear change, and post all the problems and low mileage your POS truck has....

Is this 07 used or new? If used asked to read the carfax report from the dealer. I would ensure that all of the latest flashes have been applied to this truck. I would then read all you can on the 6.7L engine and drive the truck hard. By this I mean use the EB and the 6 spd auto if equipped shift throw the gears keeping the engine between 1500 and 2000 rpms. Do not allow the truck to lug.
I love my truck and I have had very few issue with mine but mine is on 08 which may have a few different flash. I have learn to drive this truck a little different then my other trucks such as manual shifting of the auto.
My only real complaint is the oil change interval this seems to be 3000 miles and at $85 a change is more expense then my gasser. But I want this to last for 200K miles so every 3K oil change is required.

It was used with 12000 miles on it, and I have the carfax report I will look to see if it has had the latest update and if not take it and have it done.
As far as the 5.9 I still have the one in my sig and is still my first love still adding and getting more out of it.

????
Everyone jumped off the ship when the 03's came out too.. Brother...
Do some research on the emissions controls and drive it. In a year when all the performance products are in full force, the 5.9 crew will be crying in their beer with 600 hp on a stock 6.7 turbo! LOL....

The Smarty will be out soon. The 6.7's may turn out to be a beast compared to the 5.9 when all the mod choices come out. Marco of Mads said the the Torque is capable of Horse Power x 3, where as the 5.9 is HPx2. So if your 6.7 makes 500hp you could be putting out 1500 ftpd of torque with the right tuning. That is beyond impressive.

Yup, I remember when the "NEW" 1955 265 CU IN SBC came out.
All the guys were screaming what a total pos it was....no performance parts, more valve parts to break, totaly different carbs....never gonna be worth a hoot.
Check the current 427 SBC Z06.
History does repeat itself......

I have been looking at some of the DPF delete kits and they have you sign a waiver before they will ship does this waiver go anywhere or does it stay with them for their COA. Becuase I don't want to sign something that may flag my truck on some EPA watch list
.
.
That waiver is so that they don't get sued. If you get hammered by the EPA/DOT you can't go back on them. It was sold for RACE USE only and they are not liable for street use. KYAK.. Keep Your --- Covered.
With that being said, what are the EGT for the 6.7 I know that they say around 1200 for the 5.9 and short burst over. I will be installing a pyro but where should I put it pre or post turbo on the 6.7?
