slow economy+high diesel fuel prices= a cheap new tow rig

Hello everyone. I just picked up my 2005 quad cab 4x4. I was referred to this site by a friend with a CTD. I have already gotten a lot of good info here.

The truck was a good price and only had 29 thousand miles on it when we got it. Its an auto. I am trying to determine what axles it has and if it has the factory rear limited slip. The only thing it needs right now is some new remotes and a spare key. For now it will be towing my toyota around.

Welcome and congrats on the nice truck. The way I checked my rear anti-spin is when I drove tested it. I asked the sales man if he knew which he didn't so I asked if I could check and he said go ahead not knowing how I was about to check. I just pulled back in the drive way of the dealer. and I stopped, planted my left foot on the brake and then brought the rpm's up and let off the brake. MAN, if you could of seen the sales guys face when I did it. I left TWO 30 ft. patches on their lot. It had the anti-spin rear end.(posi/sure-grip). If you look in your glove box there is info. on the inside door, it should tell you the gear ratio's. Another way is when you're traveling around 60-65 mph and the rpm's are around 1800-2000, you have 3.73's. If more r's then 4.10 and that's with near stock size tires.

If your mirrors are heated and power, there are the better mirrors on ebay. If you're interested, pm me and I'll help. Same thing on the remotes. Brand new items.

Thanks guys. I checked the glove box and the info was all there. Truck has 3.73's, 9.25, 11.50, and the factory anti spin rear diff. I will send you a pm to get the info on the ebay parts. The truck is do for an oil change and I need to get the steering wheel centered. The truck drives true, but when the wheels are straight the steering wheel is about 15 degrees off to the left. Not sure if I will try to tackle this myself or take it in. Today the boss helped me wash, claybar, and wax the truck. It took about 4 hours total. The truck is big and I got the shortbed.
