Talking Silly boys, trucks R 4 chicks! =D

HA! Just teasin'. But seriously, I can't stand cars. I LOVE my dually!

I'm new to the forums, and wow, what a treasure trove of information about the Ram series heavy duty trucks. I've had my truck for 3 years but after reading what y'all right I feel sooo noobish again!

I've already benefitted from y'alls wisdom and advice....my serpentine belt broke, and I'd spent hours under the hood but couldn't quite get the belt routed right. Picked up some tips from the forum, and I managed to get the truck fixed all by myself after reading that. Thanks so much! I spent $40 for the belt, rather than $300 for the dealer to fix it.

I haul RVs with my 05 CTD stock Ram crew cab dually. It's not great money, but it's money, and I get to be my own boss. I've taught myself how to do a great deal of the maintenance: oil changes (yuck!) fuel filter changes, cleaning my K&N air filter, rotating tires (UGH), fixing flats, changing broken serp belts (holy crap, took me forever). Now, if I could just flub my way through a hub replacement/brake job.

Welcome to the forum DuallyChick.
I traded up from a 2001.5 3/4 ton Dodge to a 2005 dually & I'd never go back to a single rear wheel truck. I tow a 32' 5vr & also have a 10.6 bigfoot to hit the high lakes in the summer.
Where do you hot shot to & from? I'm a tanker driver 34 yrs & counting.

Have fun with those hubs, if your local I would be willing to help, guessing your not local, seems like no one from MN/ND on here.

Haha actually I am from Minnesota, Bemidji actually, I just moved away a long time ago. I don't hotshot yet, I haul RVs while I save money for CDL training, now required in Washington state. Then when I get that, I can save for a trailer, and when I get one, THEN I can hotshot. =0 It's a long road but I love working for myself.

Ya, as to the hubs and brakes...I have a lot of reading to do before I feel comfortable even if they are sealed, one-piece, bolt-on units...

Welcome to the site DC. We don't seem to have a front hub write up in the Wiki but here's the one I did on the rear brake replacement. The CDL school is going to be required in all states in the next few years. The days of taking the test in a buddy's truck just for the sake of getting the license is going by the wayside fast. That being said, if you have a bud in another state you might go that route before all the states change.
