Noobie from Texas

Hey folks,
My name is Dale, live in San Antonio. I've been wanting a Cummins powered tow rig for quite a while to pull my rock crawler. I finally got one. It's a 2004 D3500 dually w/NV5600 and apparently 4:10 axle. The truck has 150K and I'm going through it and getting it ready to work. I'm mechanically inclined and anxious to learn about this rig. Hope y'all don't mind some dumb questions.

Here's the truck.

Here's how I roll.

Ask what you want and there's allot you'll find with the search. You're going to be really happy moving up from a single wheel rear to the dually and having the Cummins under the hood.

I hate to ask the same old noobie questions, so I do search but not real good at it.

I already like the dually better, just not the fat fenders.

More recent pic of the crawler.

Dale, ask your questions, we're here to help. The only reason I mention the search to new folks is it usually takes a while for most folks to get used to the forum and occasionally, it takes a while for a question to get answered in the forums after you post it. If you need the info quick, the search is usually your best bet, after the Wiki.

I guess you know, Katemcy's closed now......

I was there at two different events with tornadoes very close. Didn't stifle the partying though. Where are you gonna go at night anyway?

Totally understand. I'm used to the forum environment, just haven't mastered a good search. I end up reading for hours.

Never been there. I've been to Hot Springs, Clayton, Barnwell Mtn., Colorado, Moab, etc. Mine isn't as purpose built as yours, but it does pretty well for what it is. Happy Crawling! BTW, be careful. I said I was going to leave my truck stock until I spent some time on here. IT SUCKS YOU IN!!!!

Don't especially like mud unless there's a party involved. I've been through Poth on a bicycle in the MS 150. Sounds like fun, when is it?
