Newbie looking for advice

First off, Hello to everyone. Secondly, I would appreciate some advice. I am looking at purchasing a used 06 or later Diesel 4x4 automatic pickup in either a quad cab or Mega cab. Mainly for towing and hauling family. Any advice on which truck, year, and diesel Liters. Thanks for your input.

i have an 07 megacab 5.9l which is stock other than the jake brake. I wasn't sure about giving up the bed space for the mega cab but with two kids i wanted more space in the cab. It turned out to be the best decision without a doubt. I opted for the time tested and proven 5.9l and have not regreted that either. Plenty of towing power stock! The jake brake is a must if you are towing and worth every penny! I love everything about this truck and have no real dislikes.
