New to dodge cummins

Hey everybody hows it going?
My family just got an 03 quad cab and love that diesel power.
This truck handles more like a car than a truck.
Any pointers about this year you guys think I should be aware of , I'd like to hear them
Thanks
Ian

Welcome to the forum!
Glad to hear you purchased a Cummins truck!

One thing to note is injectors generally need replacing around the 200,000km mark 125,000 miles give or take. Not a hard job, but kinda pricey.

Edit your signature with info about your truck so's we all have some of the much needed info to help answer some q's.

Lots of reading on here! Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply, I'm getting ready to do the injectors any idea of a good source for them?
And is it common practice to replace the connecting tubes at the same time.
Thanks
Ian

Hey,
Ya know something, I'm not much of a CR guy myself, don't know a whole bunch about them. I just replaced the injectors on my buddy's 05 though. Technically if the mating ends of the tubes are not pitted or otherwise damaged, it would not be necessary to replace them.... but.... lol you gotta tear it apart pretty good before you know, so a lot of guys just order and install new tubes with the injectors. Just be sure to actually torque them - these things are fussy.
My buddy ordered his injectors from Pensicola Diesel - I don't know if those injectors are any good or not, but so far so good for him. They were cheap. Tubes came out of some place in Michigan... not sure where though...

Are you pretty handy with a wrench? Takes about 3 hrs with a valve set.
