Hey folks. My name is Josh. I live in Great Falls, MT. I traded my 2008 Mega Cab Hemi for a 2010 Mega Cab diesel a few weeks ago. Kind of a fluke thing that it happened, but I am definitely glad I did. I have always wanted a diesel and my '08 MC was suppose to have been the "one". But got the Hemi instead.
We were on our way back from Idaho, a mile or two outside of Kellog, ID when my wife told me to take the exit for the Dave Smith Dodge Dealership. When we arrived she told me I had one hour to find a truck and start the paperwork. I was completely surprised by the words coming out of her mouth.
Needless to say, we finished our trip home in our new truck. Now the really interesting part was when we were about 40 minutes from home about 1am on a Sunday, the inevitable happened. Less then 300 miles on the truck and a deer hit us right in the side. I seen her coming too and tried to swerve to miss her (I know, I Know, can you blame me, you would have done it too). She clipped the front of the bed (left some hair) and smacked the passenger rear tire (left a bit of a mess). The great thing is, no damage, thankfully. Unfortunately, she still got away, as I walked back to try to find her.
Dodge did a really good job with the 4th gen trucks. I don't know if I could really say the same about my 08 has far as the strength of the box is concerned.
Anyhow, here is my intro. Looking forward to getting know everyone and learning from your experiences.

Nice to meet you folks.
I did pull over...actually more like stopped right in the road and about cried. The worst part about it was the first thing that came to mind was what the finance dude at Dave Smith' said..."be careful when going home, because if anything happens to your vehicle, your insurance may not cover it". That was about the same time he was selling me GAP insurance. He jinxed us. The only thing I could do was laugh at the situation, because no matter how hard I have tried to keep my new vehicles from any scratch, dent, or ding, something always happens.
I am thankful it was a deer and we were close to home (40 minute drive, took us a little over an hour to get home). Shortly after we got into Montana, we seen two groups of about 10 Elk right on the side of the road as it was starting to get dark. I can only imagine the devastation to the truck if one of those hit us or we hit them.
Once again, nice to meet all of you and look forward to sharing my experiences and learning from everyone.

Welcome aboard.
You need a cow catcher - there's a guy in Libby, MT that makes the best front end catcher. Made of welded steel and fits most of the Dodge and F*rd trucks. Can't remember his name, but I know the guys at Ronan Auto Body do.

Thanks induchman. Throttle Down Kustoms out of Moore, MT has the bumpers that I want to get. I seen their bumpers on one of the Dodge Trucks here in town, and man, it really made that truck stand out. You can have them customized to just about the way you want them.
I will check out the folks from Libby.
Thanks again!
