just joined today, glad to find the site. I just recently inherited my
fathers 2005 ram 2500 hd, with 350,000 miles. this truck was my dads mobile office and pride and joy. excellent condition and I plan on keeping it that way. new to diesel engines I joined to learn the do's and don'ts. any help with the recommended engine oil for the mileage and fuel additives would be great. thanks!

Hello and welcome to the DTR. A lot of opinions about the oil and additives. The Rotella 15W40 and 5W40 T6 is popular as well as Mobile1 5W40 for Turbo Diesel, also some like Delo 15W40, Valvoline Premium Blue 15W40 just to name some. Additives- Power Service is popular, 2 cycle oil The list goes on and on. You have a great 3rd Gen truck and there as so much info on here for you to catch up on. hope this helps you some, Best to you.
