first time diesel owner
I would like to say hi to you all from Ontario Canada and hope that I will be able to draw on the vast knowledge that exists on this site and perhaps even contribute a bit even though my diesel knowledge is limited.
One thing I would like to share is that I drove a 1998 dodge diesel for a welding rig for 2 years and for about a year and a half the tranny kept kicking in and out of overdrive unless I went over 60mph. It turns out it was the alternator!!!
Apparently it was not sending the proper amperage to the electric torque convertor causing it to jump in and out. Once it was replaced it shifted perfectly!!
