Not sure it's even relevent, mid year 06, the electrical on the trucks were changed to the canbus system, pro's and con's on both prefrences.
What's different about the electrical?

The way that the power is distributed throughout the truck is different. I think the 06's had a lot of instrument cluster problems.

Are all the factory wheels from 04-07 (steel & aluminum) 17" by 8" wide?

Anybody know? I did some searching and it seems the alloy rims are 8" wide but are the steel as well? Also what emissions crap would be on an 06-07?

I believe so. I know the rims did not really change from 03-07, probably longer than that.

No emissions to speak of on the pre 6.7's... just a cat converter.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping for. I figured it would have similar emissions to 06 duramax, like egr, pcv something...

Welcome to the website.

I have a 2006 Dodge CTD CR with a little over 90,000 miles on it. It has been a very good truck so far. Like madhat, I had a few front end problems but Dodge covered it all under warranty. The stock transmissions need to be upgraded if you plan on adding any power upgrades.

Ok, man... get some gauges (EGT, boost, fuel pressure, tranny temp if you're gonna tow, and a rail pressure gauge) and a smarty Jr.

Upgrade the exhaust and air intake, stay away from K&N.

That ought to put it where you want it

To be honest, I'd either swiss cheese the air box or make a CAI tube for it and either get a washable filter or run the stock dodge upgraded paper filter. Make sure the baffles are taken out of the air tube from the box to the turbo, or get an upgraded tube.

It'll save you some money doing the DIY. Or, you can get something that looks pretty...
