Dropping in to introduce myself.
My name is Joe and I recently (yesterday) purchased my third CTD powered Ram....my others were a 2002 and a 2003...boy a lot has changed since then! This new truck is a 2015 3500 SRW, CTD/Aisin, Crew Cab, Long Bed 4x4 in light silver finish. Considering I've only had the truck for 24 hours and only put 133 miles on it, I don't have a significant list of likes/dislikes yet. I will say this though, I reset the fuel MPG computer when the dealer filled it up for me. Since then I'm watching the MPG continue to increase from 8ish to mid 14's as of tonight....all over the distance of 133ish miles, and some of those miles were wide open for several gears. I'm still learning this Aisin tranny yet, and am not sure what to think of it quite yet. I swear that over the last 133 miles the tranny has started shifting crisper, on time, and when appropriate. I've also noticed that the motor seems to be getting more and more powerful as the miles climb. Is there any truth that the power is severely reduced until around 10k or so miles to allow the motor to break in correctly? I'm keeping my fingers crossed with this one...my first CTD truck got horrible MPG's, and the second was awesome at 23-25 MPG hand calculated, and so far this one is still climbing in the right direction. Can anyone shed some light on the MPG process? TIA
