What did I screw up?

I installed new injectors the other day and now when I step on the peddle I can hear a sound comeing from under the hood. It is a chattering sound like when you run low octane in a gasser. The truck runs great with no codes showing when I cycle the key. The only strange thing I noticed is after the install when I was trying to start the truck the abs light came on for a minute and then went off. It will only do it at higher boost levels (30 to 40psi). Ive checked and double checked for boost leaks and have found nothing. Could I have done something wrong on the injector install? I used the same install procedure that I have always used. Anybody have any other ideas or places to check for problems? I dont know if I dare drive it anymore or not until I know what the problem is.

Thanks Guys, Mooseman

My first thought would be that one of the new injectors is bad.
Did you remove the injector lines totally rather than bend them out of the way?
Bending them can cause the id to get pinched shut or the line breaking.

The injectors came out of a freinds truck and right into mine while they were still warm. They ran fine in his truck. I did remove the line rather than bend them.

You may have gotten a piece of dirt or metal shaving in one injector. It is easy to do. You should probably pull the injectors and pop test them.

With dirt in them would the truck still run flawless? How do you do a pop test?

Thanks Mooseman

Check with Bakers Diesel in Ogden, they do pump work so they might have a pop tester.

It tests the pressure at which the injectors open.

So the chattering I am hearing is probably an injector? I wasn't even thinking injectors because it runs so strong.

As long as they don't have to adjust anthing my local John Deere dealer pop tests for $5/injector. Well worth it anytime you have them out.

PROBLEM SOLVED ! How stupid am I? My exhaust manifold bolts were so loose the gasket chatterd. They looked tight so I never thought to check them and the black smoke was hard to see on the black head. After four nights under the hood its finally fixed so no more worries.

Thanks for trying to help guys, Mooseman
